Trouble with 1.3a patch

I downloaded the 1.3a patch,but when I goto open it I get a mes.saying
patch is not a valid win32 application.I also downloaded HOI starfire but unable to unzip it.Could anyone help me with this.

We do not support user made mods for obvious reasons, so you would need to contact the makers of that mod for assistance with their product.
Regarding the 1.3a patch, are you sure you got 1.3a or is it 1.3b ?
Where did you download it from?

I got the 1.3a patch off one of the links in this forum.I dont know very much about computers.Thank u 4 the reply.I've been meaning to get back here sooner,but I've had some internet problems.I also downloaded the 1.3b and they both come up that exe is not a valid win32 application.I've downloaded other mods from this forum and they do the same,and I'm unable to delete them.The computer says that theyre in use which is not possible since the comp.wont let me acess them.

Lets see what we are deling with.
Please run a DirectX Diagnostic:
Start menu –Run - then type Dxdiag, then select each tab across the top of the window, and run the tests on each tab. Then select “Save All Information” button in the lower right of the window. This will bring up a dialog box to allow you to select a name for the file where the information will be saved. You can save it right on the desktop as this will make it easy to find. Then copy the contents of that file from the start to the heading that says “DirectX components” then paste what you have copied into a post in this thread.
