I noticed that turning off animated avatars did more than any one thing for my own performance; and while it was a simple single click (with no restart mind you; kudos on being able to do that) to turn it off, the less technically minded might be a bit confused by the various options. As such can I suggest turning it off sooner in the various quality settings? (IE, right now I think its off on "low" but on on "medium". I can't speak for others, but turning all my settings to "low" with animated avatars on, I get less performance, than turning everything to "high" settings with animated avatars off. As such I suggest having the "medium" setting turn them off by default, or, adding some kind of medium-low setting that turns if off)

TLDR: consider turning off animated avatars the magic trick for getting more FPS
