Tutorial not saving properly

There seems to be a problem with the integrity of saved Tutorial files (v1.8UK). This has happened to me twice now:
I save the Tutorial once I have the tech to produce cavalry and cannon. On re-loading the game I can no longer produce cavalry- the arrow on the purchase screen is simply greyed-out. I also notice that the green arrow, at the bottom of screen indicating where the Mamaluks are located, has vanished. It seems to me therefore that the Tutorial is not being saved properly.
Anybody else encountered this? I up-graded from v1.07cUK to v1.08UK. If I have time later on I'm going to un-install, re-install and apply patch 1.08; just to see if that solves it!

Well, I've tried an un-install, followed by a re-install and a clean installation of the patch. Still no joy.
Problem now is that I have only 4 days left to return this game to EB. As I cannot get to grips with the game without playing the Tutorial; and as I don't have enough spare days on my hands to play without saving; then I reckon that's exactly what I will do.
Unless, of course, somebody can come up with a fix for the problem quickly....

erm i have but one thing to say

CUT THE TUTORIAL and start a game u will never learn unless u try and thats the best way if u are REALLY REALLY lousy u can start with Poland or even russia but normally start with france or spain or UK
due to certain political reasons i never played either poland nor russian ESPECIALLY not russia

have fun cause this game rocks this world!

And now for something a bit more helpful:

There is another thread here regarding the lack of cavalry and the integrity of saved tutorial files. It seems that whatever fix they included in the patch to allow you to save tutorial game files caused this bug.

I have sent an email to the support address above regarding this issue last night. No response as of yet, but I am sure they are aware of this.

Unfortunately, Paradox appears to have put in the tutorial as an afterthought for instead of giving you the ability to become familiar with ALL of the game mechanics in a small scenario, they leave you with no capability of buliding warships at all and, originally, no ability to save tutorial game files. They made a half hearted attempt to fix it and now they have more problems as a result.

Why have a tutorial at all if you are not going to do it justice?

Oh well. Lets see what 1.09 will bring us.

Saving Tutorials

Purchased game last week and looks like it will give many hours of enjoyment. It may be a bit late now to reply to this thread but I have to get my first post up somehow.

My boxed version was 1.07 and hence could not save tutorials, however I did find that by using F12 I could bring up some sort of in game text box. Tried a couple of commands and found that by typing save followed by a name I could save the tutorial game as a scenario, which at least enabled me to carry on.

Have now down loaded the 1.08 patch, had noticed I did not have cavalry anymore in the tutorial, but still managed to expand my colonies half way across Europe. Have not completed tutorial but now feel I have enough info from manual and online FAQ's to start GC.

Don't send it back, it looks to good.
