two players on the same network- copyright protection???

Hi, I installed this game on my brothers computer, but when we play together it says that we have different versions. I know for a fact that we don't. We tripple checked and have the same exact version. Is this the game's way of protecting against copyright? Should I buy a second game?? Please help.

Hum in the french versions the license says that the game can be installed in only one computer "except multiplayer specifications". o

I don't speak english very well, but I asked this in the french forum, the mods cannot give us a clear answer, Can we play a LAN game with only one cd-game in the same family? and What are these multiplyaer specifications?

Uninstall Manually the game on both systems. You can find instruction in the fourth post of the self help sticky thread. then do a fresh install from cd, then apply patch 1.08. Try that if it works try the latest beta patch on both.
