When me and two friends played HoI2, the "compression of scenario file" worked fine every time and we had a great time..

A few weeks ago we all bought DD and compression hasn't worked a single time.. This way it takes a really long time to transfer the file.. We usually use MSN Messenger and send the files compressed ourselves, then start it up.. Doesn't take that long.. But, is there a fix for this? Or is it just a temporary server problem or something?

This is with Doomsday 1.1... I have a Petium 4 3 GHz processor and 1024 MB RAM and about 180 GB free disk space... I have WinRAR, the same version as when I played HoI2 if this makes any difference.. I have Windows XP SP2

Please file a bug report following th eprocedures outlined in the sticky thread on the subject.

this is supposedly a "known issue". It was reported a while back, and i think one of the moderators said that it was on the "urgent issues" list. Don't know what ever happened to that ;)

We have the same issue.

When trying to restart a saved multiplayer game, the compression fails, and we can't restart it.

Do you actually send the saved game file manually? If so, where do you put it so that all the people in the saved multiplayer game can access it and how do you restart the game afterwards??

My friends and I are totally stumped by this....we bought DD so that we could play mutiplayer, yet it is not working right.

Let's move this to the proper forum.

The Aussie group games have a fairly simple workaround for this problem.

The host emails the zipped save to everyone. Unzip the save to your HOI2\Scenario\Save Game folder.

After you have done this, the game can be hosted. Once everyone playing has the unzipped file in the correct location, the host can select the save, and there will be no delay or freezing.

Works a charm, even if it is a little inconvenient.
