Do i need to uninstall the Rome standard edition before installing Rome Gold w/ the V.V. expansion? I was also informed by some helpful members here, after Gold/V.V. is installed, to first install V.V. 2.2 patch then 2.31 Beta patch.

Yes, you do, otherwise you end up with two installations, one of Rome and one of Rome:Gold. If you got Gold as a download from Gamers Gate, Impulse or Steam it should come with 2.2 already installed, but if it's a boxed version then you should apply 2.2 yourself. Only apply the 2.31 beta patch after that if you are comfortable with unzipping archives and manual file handling under Windows.
Thanks for the help Andrew. Yea i'm not P.C. guy, so unzipping a file will have to wait, lol. But the uninstall install went fine. also got V.V. 2.2 in.
