Here you can change the default names for new units.

If you change the name of the units in the relevant .inc file you wont have to repeat it each time you start a new scenario. Just open it in wordpad and do a find and replace Arm.->Panzer.

edit: sp

I know what unitname.csv if for, but ground and air unit don't appear to function there.

As for Modding the INC file, thats great for the starting units, but new units still need to be changed.

Thanks anyway though

I think there are separate files for ground, naval and air units. Try airnames.cvs or something, there isnt that many files in that dir, so it shouldnt be that hard to spot them.

According to Havard's Hacking Haven these files are:

The files in the db folder are: airname.csv, armynames.csv, country.csv, credits.txt, events.txt, navynames.csv, Province.csv, RandomLeaders.csv, revolt.txt and unitnames.csv

I have:

country.csv
credits.txt
events.txt
Province.csv
RandomLeaders.csv
revolt.txt
unitnames.csv

So either the production "GOLD" is screwed up (unlikely) or The NA version is different from other versions or Havard is a betaziod with a 1.02 patch.

This is strange indeed. navynames.csv and airname.csv are the relevant files here. I dont think armynames.csv is used. Try reinstalling the game and see if the files are there, apply the patch and check again. If they are still missing, report it in the bug forum. Same goes if they are there before applying the patch, but not after, but I doubt that is the case.

What version are you running Ktarn?
I`m running two different versions, neither of which have the files I mentioned. But I didnt bother to check that before posting, as I was sure the files were there...
We are investigating what has happened.
