I know HOI has some bugs and problems, but in addition to it crashing every 5 min for me on a P4 with WinXP Pro, my friend was able to conquer half of Eurasia with just Yugoslavia-this bring to light the necessity for Partisan fighters, and even an occasional uprising after annexation if no troops are present

How does it crash exactly? Is it total random for you? I also experienced craches but only a few times.

I just play and then all of a sudden it immediately quits and goes to desktop

Try posting in the support forum, and be sure to include some details on when it is crashing, and some info on your system. See the stickys there for a list of some suggestions too.

Sounds similar to a graphic-card issue someone else mentioned a while back... what resolution are you playing in and what graphics card/driver ver~ do you have? (Check the support forum is best mind you)
