I remember someone once made a mod with vampires and all...

Just curious if someone knows it's name?

tnx :)

I remember Byakhiam made it. I have in on my computer... 6 hours away from where I am. Unfortunetly, I no long can find it. I would be more than willing to help work on it during weekends.

2004? dear god... has it been so long ago.....

tnx everyone... ohh well too bad...it would have been awesome to play CK with a lil fantasy.....werewolf, vampires dragons :)

I have zero modding knowledge so I wouldn't know where to even start...
but if anyone is interested would could revive that mod?

I would be interested... I'll do a bit of work later today.

Are they other mod which include heroic fantasy elements like vampire and other stuff like that ?

Well, I guess I can revamp (pun) the entire trait system. Just remember... it starts taking longer and longer because I do have my studies to tend to.

So what exactly do we want?

Vampires?
Dragons?
Elves?

I can technically make it a generic fantasy set in medieval Europe.

btw: Can someone post a blank CK map?

I've often thought about doing a fantasy themed mini-mod for CK. It would be a lot of work but could turn out pretty interesting.

I think elves, ogres, dragons and such would all have to be done by event, since there's only three traits that are free as of DV. You could try changing the cultures (Orcish as a culture?) but the pictures will still be human.

CK's modding capabilities are unfortunately pretty limited.

I already have some (a lot of) ideas:

Races/Base Religion:
Men - Catholic
Elves - Orthodox
Dwarves - Jewish
Orks - Muslim

Dwarves are up to being dropped, but with Jewish there might as well.

I plan to use the "Dark" cultures for Orks, and give them Orkish portraits, might have a friend sketch them up. Traits will be reworked:

Drop:
- Saint
- Beatified
- Parental Upbringing
- Emperor
- Sunni
- Shiite

Merge:
- Schizophrenic/Crazed > Madness
- Hunch Back/Club Foot/Leper > Deformed
- Hair Lip/Lisp/Stutter > Facial Deformity
- Pneumonia/Plagued/Intestinal Worm > Serious Illness

This gives us 13 + 3 = 16 free traits

These traits can be racial things like "Dwarf" "High Elf" "Wood Elf" as well as other more fantasy themed things such as "Vampire" "Werewolf" "Plane-touched" and anything else we can think of.

There will probably be a lot from D&D and WHFB seeing as I am a huge fan of both.

I'd be more than willing to help you out :)

I like your setup for a major overhaul...nearly LOTRish

I was only thinking about Vampires and Werewolves is medieval world..:p

Yeah, but what is the fun of that? I will definitely have some stuff ready for the weekend. Probably move stuff into a new thread and get a forum up and running then. I actually have a report to write and I am dividing the map up into Duchies and stuff.

Here are my culture ideas, with the fantasy culture on the left and the in-game equivalent on the right:

--Elves--
Pictish - Scottish
Moorish - Irish
Woodish - Welsh
Middle Elves - Norman
High Elves - Frankish
Low Elves - Latin
Mountain Elves - Catalan
Drow - Castilian
Aquan - Portuguese

--Men--
Ziamese - Saxon
Horian - English
Lornadian - Italian
Nehrians - Russian
Fahrosian - South Slavic
Imperial - Greek
Bulghar - Georgian
Ilrian - Armenian
Styrian - Hungarian
Easterling - Polish
Nord - Lettgalish
Ethernian - West Slavic
Alpen - Basque
Phirian - Ugric Baltic
Esterlonian - Prussian
Derian - Dutch
Klapedian - Lithuanian
Juts - Danish

--Orcs--
Sand Tribe - Alan
Steppe Tribe - Persian
Sky Tribe - Muslim
Moon Tribe - Cuman
Sun Tribe - Turkish
Forest Tribe - Pecheneg

--Dwarves--
Karak - Finnish
Gothahr - Swedish
Beregak - Norwegian

this looks interesting, anything I can do to help (as someone not experienced with scripting events and very bad at graphical stuff)? :p

Currently: support the mod. I am going to get a forum up today and post some ideas. I'll also talk to gigau about how to make CoAs.

Once I get my ideas cleared in my head, we can actually begin working on the mod itself. Once that starts you can help with beta testing, with editing names and dynasties.

EDIT: Check out my "homepage" for the Mod forum.

The religion break down is pretty straight forward:

Orthodox -> Heimgordian (Brown)
Catholic -> Elehonian (Blue)
Jewish -> Arachondian (Orange)
Pagan -> Gragorkian (Grey)
Muslim -> Kurgalian (Green)

Map:

Elehonian is the religion of Higher Elves, who worship a supreme deity of light and nature, as well as a the deity's spouse, the deity of valor and warfare. By taking the place of the catholics, Higher Elves and their allies will crusade against barbaric peoples and try to recapture their former glory. It will also allow for them to have a centralized religious authority (Pope) as well as given them the western titles. As well as Elves, several groups of men worship these gods, and it is the state religion of two Kingdoms of Men.

Arachondian is the religion of Lower Elves. Drow and Wild Elves worship the goddess of night, death and punishment. She takes the form of a giant spider, though any arachnid is holy.

Heimgordian is the religion of Dwarves and the majority of men. This religion worships a grand pantheon of very mortal-like deities. Instead of being asexual and androgynous like Elven Gods, these Gods sleep around, drink, covort with people and often go hunting, fishing and viking.

Gragorkian is one the the two Orcish religions. The two religions actually worship the same pantheon of Gods, but argue over which god is the most powerful. Gragorkians believe that Grag the Destroyer, God of War and Destruction is the most powerful of all Gods. They believe that the colour blue is lucky.

Kurgalian is the other of the two Orcish religions. Kurgalians believe that Kurg the Conqueror, God of Destruction and War is the most powerful of all the Gods. They say that Kurg sneezed Grag up when he had a head cold, but Gragorkians would say that Grag found Kurg in his belly button. They believe red is the luckiest of all colours.

Heh, a little bit influence by Gork and Mork there for the orkish religions? And keep up the good work, this looks really interesting. I'd offer to help but I have 0 skills when it comes to modding (other than adding in pre-existing images as CoAs, but that's hardly modding at all).

Heh, yeah. I used to be really big into Warhammer... I have a Vampire Counts army, but I have found D&D to be more cost effective.

I hope to start actual modding this weekend, but no promises... I also have an AAR to write.

Well I wish you the best of luck Mr. Capiatlist, total conversions seem like a major pain! I was once thinking about doing a "what-if" CK mod where Carthage became the dominant empire rather than Rome, but the sheer work involved (new kingdoms, new dynasties, new characters) seemed daunting. I would love to play your fantasy mod when it comes out though. CK is such a great game but doesn't have the wonderful mods that many other Paradox titles have. That's not to insult DVIP or TASS, but they're both focused on cleaning up the main game more than changing it.

I've been putting a little work into a vampire mini-mod that I might be able to have ready sometime soon. It won't be nearly as extensive as Capiatlist's work, but it is something. I've already got events written up for becoming a vampire, turning children, improving with age, and feeding.

Does anyone have any ideas of things they'd like me to include?

I plan on writing an event for vampire hunters, and also the possibility of a revolt amongst the villagers of your demesne if you are a vampire overlord. I cannibalized a lot of ideas from the old vampire thread.

I also have the groundwork laid for a "Werewolf" trait and a "Changeling" trait.
