I have just managed to vassalize a neigbour. Now I wa sunder the impression that a vassal will join its liege
in a war. yet lo and behold my vassal sits merrily in its home nation with a 100K army (that would be really really handy) and has no clue that war is raging around it. My regular allies joined me in my call to allies.. but my vassal seems to poke the pooch.

Other than eventual annexation.. is there a point to a vassal.. i dont get any more money, i dont get the territory and apparently about as much help in war as any true isolationsi would give.

Keep good relations and they should follow your lead into war (if you have an alliance).

I did have an alliance.. it may have expired .. but arent vassals by their very nature assumed to be allies (well i know there are exceptions.. historically.. and dont get me starte don the Hundred years war..:D )

Nope they're not automatically, they are barred from joining other alliances though, so if you don't want your vassal to be swallowed by somebody else, you'd better include them in yours.

Would be nice though if the AI would do the same (always try to include their vassals in their alliances), that is a little tweak to the AI still needed imho.
