So this isn't a Mod post, though I do have to say I enjoy the fact that the crashing issues (Which were major in the last 3 builds, at least in the CoK chapter) I felt the need to vent.
TV SPOILER

So, as of tonight (6/9/15) I watched the latest two episodes. Now, I must admit, the Episode (S5E8) left me mad with how the white walkers came in. At first, by the end, I was like, "Let me crack open a beer, because this is a victory..." But before I even put the bottle opener to the beer bottle, I began to see those brave souls who stayed to fight the White Walkers be slain, and then be resurrected under the evil magic that raises the others. I was disgusted with myself and then, enraged by the idea of what had transpired before me.

Now, I just watched the episode where Stannis lights someone on FIre (if you're up to date you know who) and I must say, all the respect has gone out of the window...

|In my latest mod playthrough, Stannis Baratheon, after a violent 7 year war, was defeated by Tommas Lannister (After Joffery was assassinated through me and Varys but more on that in a future post) and he was sent to the wall. After 'Mors the Buter' had passed, Stannis Baratheon had been elected Lord Commander, and had withstood 3 Invasions from Mance Rayder (who had defeated the Others with an Inconclusive Victory) and he had earned my respect.

However, after this last nights events, as I have seen them, I have now decided, under the bias of who I am, that Stannis WILL NEVER take my throne and hold it... I will always, without a doubt, kill him. Within battle, plots, or however I can. I will never play as this disgrace as a man, and will always end his life.... However, I have found a newfound respect for his wife in this endeavor, because she ultimately ended up loving this person, instead of acting like they were a disgrace like she had been in previous episodes.

Now... who else has something to say, b/c I m wondering if I"m alone in this.

Last Game of Thrones episode was really disturbing, it all started with the Arya scene and it got me so angry by that slime Meryn Trant, and then Stannis gets attacked by some 20 men and decides to burn his daughter alive...

May the Boltons of the North crush Stannis.

Just remember that show Stannis isn't book Stannis in and the AGOT mod, book canon IS canon. It's not Stannis' fault DnD butchered his show character so don't take it out on the one true king of Westeros.

I was quite surprised that the TV series took such a direction. I very much doubt that books Stannis would even think of burning that person, I remember Melisandre letting the idea slip out of her mouth once and Stannis staunchly refused. It saddens me a bit, since now the book lovers won't feel compelled to hate Stannis due to his
kinslaying
decisions (since it didn't happen), but the show watchers will.

According to the show's writers George told them it would happen

But not under these circumstances. I have always thought Shireen very likely to burn in the books, but I did not and do not beleive it would be by Stannis' order. If it turns out to be, then it will most likely be to try and stop the white-walkers. And if it isn't, THEN I would probably despise him.

They never explicitly said that George wanted Stannis to do it. The problem is that the circumstances made it really difficult to write what had happened since this had to happen. DnD have had some amazing episodes, but this was a challenge because there were a few things against them when they wrote it. We can't just have Stannis disappear conveniently for Mel to do her work, we'd criticize it as a lazy way to kill off Shireen (No matter what, people will still criticize Shireen's death on the principle that Shireen dies). Maybe Stannis could've sent Selyse and Shireen back to the wall while secretly being followed by Mel and could give Davos something to do (Even then, I ain't no show writer, so this could be a crappy way to do this).

Or they could have left all three of them (Shireen, Mel and Selyse) at the wall, instead of having Stannis' recklessly drag them through a campaign where there was no guarantee they'd win.

This season has been full of too many plot holes/lack of logic.

Heh, Stannis did what all of us (in AGoT mod or anywhere else in CK2) have done many times. When we do it, it's just "That's CK2 for you!". When Stannis does it, it's "Fuck the king!".

Personally i don't think Selyse's last minute change of heart should change how we see her, she has been hating on that certain character* from day one even with the change of heart it was her fault.

Also i believe DnD have been hinting at this happening since they left Dragonstone in season 4, and what is with all the Bolton love this whole thing has caused, the Boltons are worse, Ramsey killed his brother and Roose knows it (can't remember if they mention it in the show though)

And finally judging from Stannis expression i think he would have been very relieved if Davos came riding into the camp on a horse, cut the character loose and rode off into the sunset.

*do we still have to avoid naming the character if you read the op even if you hadn't watched you would be able to guess.

If i remember correctly we dont actually know if Ramsay killed Domeric, everyone just assumes so because its kinda something he would do, some people actually think it was Roose himself that killed his son, but then again there are some people that have some very ... interesting theories about him.

On the whole Stannis filicide business i dont think any of the people involved deserves to be forgiven, no matter what reason they would have for doing so, but that is just my opinion.

I still want Stannis and Jon to die then have Mel sacrifice Shireen to bring back Azor Ahai and for Jon to come back to life and everyone is like "...wat... da... fak............ kden."

Bolt-on your tinfoil hats everyone

Personally even though it was a horrible thing for Stannis to do, a season from now everyone will be cheering for him (if he lives that long) and i sort of understand his logic in assuming it will be worth it.

Maybe Roose killed Domeric or let Ramsay kill him because he was too weak to be a Bolton. Ramsay from the tv-show perspective (I have not read all the books yet)
has done alot for Bolton cause that Domeric might not have been willing to do, Ramsay gave Roose Mt Cailin, sacked Winterfell, defeated the Ironborn, devastated Stannis with only 20 men and other things.

I believe Ramsay will be alot like Roose when he is older and be more controlled, he is a psychopath but he is loyal to his father, intelligent and ruthless. He is even smarter than Stannis so Roose+Ramsay is an excellent team but now they have magical R'hllor powers against them so It will be interesting to see how this new Northern conflict will turn out.

That's right. Mod Stannis always dies in some battle or personal combat early in the game.

That is what I like about show Ramsey. He's handsome and intelligent, making him all the more horrific for being a deranged psychopath who will commit heinous acts to appease himself. After
Jofferey kicked the bucket
the show needed someone else who the audience would come to despise. With the latest event in episode 9 of season 5, this may have changed who people detest more. It just goes to show that, "When you play the game of thrones, you win or you die. There is no middle ground" and nothing is off limits.

Although I still detest Ramsey more than Stannis, call me whatever, but I gotta soft spot for Stennis the Menace. That red witch can off herself though.

I'm a fan of both the books and the show. I know George has confirmed she'll die in the books too, I'm just hoping its under different circumstances. Stannis is one of my favorite characters, and I just can't see him doing that just to beat the Boltons.
