So, I've read the manual, looked at the FAQs, browsed all over this forum, and played a few games (not necessarily in that order), and still can't figure out how to get Victory Points. A hundred years into a grand campaign, I've settled (or annexed) all of Central America and most of Quechua, and yet the game insists I have 0 Victory Points. As do ALL the other powers. Since the game tells me I can check the VP totals throughout the game, am I wrong to assume that they can be accrued during the game? The (obligatory dis - next to useless) manual says 'see the end of the manual for victory points' but the end of the manual just tells you the flavors of victory points, not how to get them.

at the begining of the scenario, you have to go to options (or something very similar) and enable victory points.

I know this is going to sound dumb, but isn't that kind of dumb? At the start of the scenario it says 'press F1 to view victory points at any time' (or something similar). It then says that again every time I load a save game. You would think it would know that you've not set the option to actually HAVE victory points.

I don't remember ever seeing this option, but I guess I'll look again.

Thanks

The option is located at the bottom of the list 'Base Victory Points' and the choices are on/off. If I remember correctly, they're turned off by default.
