Morale not saved with Savegame

Troop morale states are not saved with savegame. Fight a battle, watch morale sink. Win (or lose) the battle. Check the various morale %'s for your troops. Save the game, surrender and then reload. Checking Morale % will show them all at 100% after the load.

Wouldn't implementing this increase the savegame size further though?

It most likely would.

I also think its a very minor bug, which takes to mouch valuable time for to little gain.

Yes it can be exploited, but so canmuch else.
