WAD? re:troop placement

Playing a wwi session with Stratagist today noticed that troops that you produce can be deployed upon occupied soil. however, mobilized troops can not be deployed if there home prov is occupied. this allows for some exploits.... fall back 3 provs and then produce 100 divs that appear on your border provs, thereby encircling your enemy.

is this WAD?

You need land connection though to do that :)

It's been used before and surprised me before but not anymore. I mentioned it in Memnon's thread on how to beat "Tom"

Depends on how you view it. Reserves are reserves. You can view this as tactical reserve or strategic reserve. Your armies engage enemy, you own strip of land connecting your nation to theirs already. Once you achieve a breakthrough, you give a call to HQ and HQ release all of those reserve division to this new break through and they pour through the hole and proceed to widen it.

er... i guess i meant MY occupied soil... like in Lille for instance. Strat as GER overran me and occupied Lille and its surrounding provs... well, i had built 10 divs that were home prov Lille.... deploy all to home and POOF! there they are standing in Lille: german occupied french territory, yet i was allowed to deploy those divs. BUT say i had a mobilization that had 10 divs based in Lille... i wouldn't be able to deploy them in occupied Lille

Hmm....I see what you mean...

maybe they were training and after german took over, went to the hills as resistance?

I know in game, when you do that, they become "attacker" if there were any germans in lille at that time.

yes, they do become attacker. it also surfaced many many times when Strat deployed probably some 100 divs in occupied Rhineland... made for a hell of a time killin all those divs over and over again! he almost walled it up, cutting me off from my other troops.

i did 'order' those divs before occupied, so maybe they trained in the hills
