Actually, those don't seem quite right. I would go with these Swedish names:

Albania > Albanien
Armenia Minor > Armenia Minor (Latin, thus good everywhere)
Byzantine > Bysans, or the Latin Byzantium
Duchy of greece > Hertigdömet Grekland (or better, just Grekland)
Kingdom of Cyprus > Kungadömet Cypern (or better, just Cypern)
Bosnia > Bosnien
Tver > Tver
Trebizond > Trapesund

I would also use "Byzantium", or "Byzantine Empire" for the English. ;)
 
Letterally in Italian is as following:


Albania - ALBANIA

Armenia minor - ARMENIA MINORE

Byzantine - BIZANTINO (the other italian buddy told BISANZIO but it is wrong because BISANZIO means the city of Bizantium not the adjective, so that the translation of Byzantine Empire is IMPERO BIZANTINO)

Duchy of Greece - DUCATO DI GRECIA

Kingdom of Cyprus - REGNO DI CIPRO

Bosnia - BOSNIA

Tver - ????????? (what is it?)Maybe only TVER but it is not an italian word.

Trebizond - TREBISONDA
 
Update on French names

I have posted your question in the French forum and I have been given the following precisions:

Armenia minor --> Petite Arménie ou Arménie Inférieure
Duchy of Greece ---> Despotat de Morée

In 1453, "Despotat de Morée" is all that is left of Bizantine possessions in Greece. I personnally think however that you should leave it to my prior translation "Duché...". Just about everyone (playing this game) will know what you mean by "Duché de Grèce" but it might be harder for "Despotat...". There is no clear indication for wich one is better and I don't have any French books to check it. It's up to you to decide wich one you want :) (remember: you can please some of the people, some of the time, but not everyone, everytime :D

Arménie Inférieure seems like a better translation to me ("Petite" means "small" wich is not what "minor" mean in this context I think; "Inférieure" would mean "lower").

So far, everyone seems to agree with my other translations (nobody seems to know about Tver so leave it that way) :rolleyes:

If anything else comes up I will post another update.
 
Spanish names

I've got a reply for the spanish names:

albanie=albania
armenie mineure=armenia menor
byzance=bizancio ("i" instead of "y")
duche de grece=ducado de grecia
royaume de chypre=reino de chipre
bosnie=bosnia
tver=tver


Again, nobody knows about Tver... :(

I was able to check a dictionnary and I can confirm that Tver is the same in french. My guess is it doesn't change in Italian and Spanish either.

Approximate translation:
Historical Armenia (North East of actual Turkey) would probably be simply "Arménie" (he doesn't know really).
If it's the Middle Age territory, south of Turkey (with cities like Marash, Edesse, Tarse and Adane), then it's "Petite Arménie".

Looking at my old historical Atlas, this region is called "Lesser Armenia" in 1097 (and a small part still left in 1204). If it's that one go with Dunhere's name. He is far more knowledgable than me in this area.
