What about Venice??!!

I just bought the US version of the game and was disappointed not to be able to play Venice in any of the scenarios. I have played the board game before, and Venice is definitely my favorite country to play. Are there any existing or planned upgrades, downloads, or scenario additions that will allow me to do this in English?
 
You have to change the game files to play as Venice. I'll allow someone else whose actually done that to explain/point you in the right direction on how to do that.
 
If you want to play Venice in the Grand Campaign just make a new copy of the Grand Campaign scenario file, rename it something like 'Venice.eug', go into the file using a word processor, and change of one the country tags (probably HAB for Austria) to VEN for Venice. Then, when you select this new scenarion in the scenario selection screen, Venice will be in place of the other nation.
 
Choose to play Venice in the GC of EU by all means. But also, make a trip and visit the city. You will not forget it.
 
Well, I am playing GC as Parma (see my Parma AAR at the AAR forum) and I have conqured Venice and annexed Genoa. So watch your back...

Thanks guys

Now that I can play Venice, the winged lion of St Mark will fly supreme in the Mediterranean. Genoa will pay! (now if I could just get the game to speed up) Are there any plans to improve game performance.
