So now every paradox game forces you to run it through the v2 launcher, why is that, what are the benefits?
There is no benefit to this, the launcher doesn't show your games, there are no options to do anything other that click on play.
So to play some thing, you have to ex. open steam, click play on the game, wait 60-90 seconds for the v2 launcher to start from an ssd and then click play again...
What sort of utter ******** is this, whys this extra step that does nothing?

Most Paradox games already had their own launcher (as per CK2 today still). We just combined them into one.

Launchers are for choosing things like DLCs and mods, and some game settings, before starting the actual game. Otherwise you'd have to start the game, make a change, exit it and run it again.

But it does none of this, there is no mod options or no dlc options.
Just tested it with Cities: Skyline and prison Architect that I have installed, nothing other than play are shown.

Yes you can log in or out of your account, change language, change launcher settings(personalized content and beta versions of launcher) and then links to dlc and a merch store. Why do I need a launcher for that?

I was referring to the games that Paradox write, such as HOI4 and Stellaris that you have. Games written by other developers do things different, by their choice.
