The syndicate is made up of pirates and slavers. Other than characters like Tendi if an Orion is on screen they’re usually stealing something/someone or selling stolen goods/people. So I’d probably go for something like criminal megacorp with indentured assets as a civic. Take the raiding perk at some point to grab pops and when you don’t have a use for them spam them on the slave market.

For traits go for charismatic to represent the whole pheromone thing and decadent since Orion leaders are often shown as hedonistic.

i don't know but it's worth considering the treasure hunter origin :p
Yeah I was just thinking that Treasure Hunters was the best origin for them. but other than the obvious Criminal Heritage, I'm uncertain.

Do you think this would be a good representation of them? I'm not so sure about the ethics. thanks

Thanks. Which ethics do you think they should have? some degree of authoritarian is needed for indentured assets. I like the counselor position for indentured assets much more than it's non-corporate counterpart (forgot it's name)

Maybe auth, military, and xenophile? Auth for the fact the syndicate is ruled by powerful families and employs slavery, military because virtually all their ships are heavily armed, and xenophile because they frequently sell to others have don’t have qualms enthralling them.

I thought maybe auth, xenophile and pacifist because war could be bad for business. I don't think of the Orions as military conquerors. more like conquering through illegal trade.

between frugal and the counselor position from Indentured Servants, Orion slaves probably produce a good amount of trade

Military doesn’t mean conquerors. You could leave it off but pacifist definitely doesn’t fit. Orion’s are constantly attacking others and each other. Usually in acts of piracy and slavery, which is why I’d suggest picking up the barbaric despoiler civic and using the raiding CB against other empires.

Yeah nihilistic acquisition is perfect for the Orions. but should they pick it up as a 3rd civic or use an AP to get it? if you want it earlier you have a to use an AP. and both your starting civics (criminal heritage & indentured servants) are pretty essential for being the Orion Syndicate

It should be your first ascention pick since there are no other picks that fit them anyway.
