Seeing a lot of people are disapointed the game is not out yet, I was wondering...

Wich way do you want CK to be released:

a) A release in early July of a unstable and unbalanced game, much as EU2 1.00 was, with patch coming up at the same pace as it did for Eu2.

b) A released next January after extensive beta testing (both in-house and public) of a game nearly perfect (read stable and 90% balanced), needing just a few patches to adjust balancing issues uncovered by the masses of players

c) A perfect game recquiring no patches, creating harmony among all players, eliminating the need for ever buying anything else, and solving all of humanity's disease by it's extraordinary gameplay, with a planned release date for February 29th, 2099.

P.S. maybe Havard or another mod could make a poll out of this ;) I'm genuilely curious :)

i think i speak for the majority of people here when i say option b is the best (though option c would be neat too :D )
id rather wait a bit longer (after all, my life doesnt depend on it) and get a really great game!

cheap trick.

I don't mind waiting until january 2005 if need be.

Problem is that they don't tell you anything. Sergei was really active in the beginning, but that suddenly stopped, and nothing at all is coming nowadays.

If they didn't want to tell us of about the development they should not have started that way to begin with. Its hardly surprising that people getting used to a development update every 14 days and suddenly can't get any comments for a month and a half gets a bit sour and worried.

B leaning towards the A end.

B sounds good.

B for me to, with the stipulation that we get some updates now and again. If not, then A let us do the beta

D - released in September (make Amazon look like a prophet) in reasonably good shape with patches at the rate that Johan put them out for EU2 1.06 and thereafter. (Think I want too much?):)

Im changing my vote to D as described by Sonny, why not, if Amazon says its coming in Sept.....

A, for sure. EU 1 when it came out was still kick arse for me. And patches r nicccce

B, but leaning slightly towards C

But if Victoria comes out in the meantime, I don't have a problem waiting a bit longer!

and I agree with Jos, if the wait is pleasant, I wouldn't mind it much at all.

To be perfectly honest, I dont really care anymore... I was one of the lucky few picked for reviewing the map and other input, the beta seemed so close then. It`s been months now without any significant updates (that includes the little updates by Sergei, which I never found fullfilling--- a few bits of info every two weeks)

Im playing Everquest again, had not visited the CK forums in ages... someday the game will be released and I`ll buy it, but I just dont care right now.

for all those who answered C, take a good look at your Windows calendar :D

B is for me, as long as the graphics don't look too outdated by then.

As for A, everyone who answered that, if I ever see one of you complaining the game is bugged, I'll FIND OUT WHERE YOU LIVE DAMMIT!!! :D :D

seriously, the lack of communication is one thing, the delay in the release is another.
I agree with all of you that someone from Snowball or Paradox should post something. Anything. Just a little comment in the designer diary "We're sorry, but we're too busy to make one this week, we will do our best to post an update in one month".
I understand Snowball can't keep the pace of an update every two weeks, but to go completely silent suddenly, is another.

Still. there are numerous people asking for a release now, or very soon, and I think it's the worst possible idea.
Think of it:
1) There's gonna be flame wars over here, increase moderator attention and warning/banning issued every other day because the board will be filled with idiots posting "why does this fucking piece of shit keep crashing"
2) Even if you do your best to enjoy the game, you'll anxiously wait the next patch release, and there will be people again complaining their saves are not compatible.
3) Whatever, I'm right, you're wrong :p

B leaning towards A. I don't mind waiting for a game, but I do have problems when there is such a complete lack of interest for mthe developing side as to make me bleieve that the game it self might be dead in the water.
