Thanks for clearing that up guys. Ok, Tuna, so then if I really want to simulate the situation in say 1154, Id have to create a scenario of my own that changed starting positions and family relations and such?

Exactly :) I think the fact that any CK game will start to deviate from history from 1066 onwards will spur many more user mods compared to EU2. I know I want to play a 14th century setup with all the Turkic principalities in Asia Minor and the HYW raging on in France.

Snowball hasn't mentioned yet what the planned scenarios will be, have they?

Hopefully, we'll get a decent number aside from the "Grand Campaign".
So far there has been mention of the "GC" starting in 1066, and (IIRC) a couple of scenarios to be released later.

So - if there are two later scenarios... When should they start?

A few thoughts:

- 1100: After the latin conquest of the first crusade, you get a full-fledged Kingdom of Jerusalem to control.

- 1130: Around the time of the rise of the Hohenstaufen, the Angevin Empire and the Kingdom of Sicily!

- 1204/5: Just after (or before?) the latin conquest of Constantinople. You can be one of the Latins or the various Greek factions. This also gives an excellent starting point for the Albigensian crusade.

We have tossed around quite a few proposed scenarios in other threads but so far no official words on how many or what they will be - if they come at all. If CK is as editable as we have come to expect there should be plenty of user participation in creating scenarios.

With the reduction in planned features and the start of CK2 talked about in other threads there may not be enough official resources to produce (m)any scenarios.

:)

There comes a time in most projects where reality catches up and you have to proritize what to implement and not of what you have planned. For CK that time is now. A few things they hoped to include they have been forced to axe to secure a proper implementation of the rest...

And a great idea it is. Much to the dismay of some of us (* sob *). But if it makes a better gaming experience (more stuff working correctly) then I say get out the axe and begin.:)

Thanks Havard & Sonny. Do either of you have any idea what sort of stuff got "axed"?

Nope, not me. Sergei is supposed to give us an overview of what was kept sometime this week.:)
