Whenever I try to join a friend's lobby through steam or the server browser, it either connects and shows only myself, or me and the host. However, there are other players in the lobby who can see each other and the host but not me. I used to have a pirated version of the game, but I have since deleted it and bought a copy since I really enjoyed the game. Once I am in the lobby screen, I am unable to do anything. Select an empire, ready up or change game rules if I am the host. This is honestly really annoying. Any suggestion on how to fix this would be much appreciated.

Are you all using the Steam version? Or is anyone on the MS store/gamepass edition?

What version and checksum shows in the MP lobby screen for you?

That is correct, so I can only assume you have a firewall issue. Have all players opt into the Crossplay test branch, now in the Steam Betas tab for this game. Do you get the same problems?

exactly the same problems. I am installing the paradox launcher from the website and installing stellaris there to see if it fixes the issue.

Using a different client does not affect the game's MP functions at all. What it does do is make a second installation of the game, so if the problem is a corrupted installation under Steam that could conceivably help.
