In my first GC, the Reformation, John Calvin, the Treaty of Tordesillas, the Council of Trent and the Edict of Tolerance all happened before 1600. Being the Russians, we could care less but it was interesting to see all those religious conflicts start and conclude within 80 years. It was also amusing to see the Treaty of Tordesillas in effect for at most 40 years.

I was under the impression that the Edict of Tolerance is scheduled for the 18th century. Is my game unusual?

Just so you know, I like the idea that these events can happen at different times. Just curious.

Oh, and Edict of Tolerance is scheduled for around 1600, so don't worry.

I think the Edict of Toleration is meant to imitate Henry IV's Edict of Nantes and hence it occurs in the around 1600. I would prefer to see it pushed back to about 1648 (historical end of Thirty Wars' War) so that religious conflicts last longer.
