I think you really should hold back with promisise in the future. I like the update and so on but i can not stand the hype. Also Madmat told us that a DIvision update is in work still no see of it. Either way oyu have to say we will bring an update in the near future and promoting it like this one just a week before but with less fency names and stuff or you should really let us be part of it, tell us when and where we can expact it, tell us when something gets delayed and maybe a short reason why.

Really love this game and I see forward in the future, hope you and we will get it back on track.

I'd have to agree. The interaction (however limited) up to this patch was using phrases like "something big" and "new content".

It was just hype for a slightly-better-than-last-patch update. I won't nay say the changes as I haven't had time to play with it (Rojan brings up a good point about satchel domination) but I will nay say the patch communication. The "new" content is just another flipped map and some thumb nails (which look nice), I'm sure all 200 people will enjoy it. Meanwhile we are told yet another BIG patch is in the works.

In all respect, we've been told a big patch is in the works since may. Maybe some information as to what exactly you're working on idea wise for divisions would keep some of us from thinking we're being strung along for another "+5/-5" patch.

I'm now so sure that the big division update will come in two patches... first one side and than the other.

Honestly... it looks like Trump is the PR-Manager of Eugen-Systems.

It'll be a huge patch, a big beautiful patch. We are going to make such a great patch, believe me. It's true. Nobody makes patches like me, nobody. I have the best patch makers, it's true, believe me.

And we're going to make a big patch that Mexico will pay for.

Let's Make Eugen Great Again. #MEGA

Also, I'd like to document another epic troll from MadMat against the British Contingent of Eugen's playerbase.

Dude posts a picture of a Vicker's with a scope which spawns a thread and other discussions about a potential buff to the lowly Vickers, giving hope to dozens of Teaboos.

No such change is made.

Well played, MM, well played.

May you never let them live down the endless 'British SEAD' posts of ALB.

I'm much happier with this patch, but wow you guys oversold it to hilarious degree.

Thanks for fixing the observer mode bug finally. It's nice being able to watch games past when people drop.

Edit: lol the fucking Vickers. It's so bad pgrens in light cover can roll over it in heavy cover.

this is why madmat is the absolute madman. . . .

LMAO, so you post a picture of a Vickers team with a scope on their machine gun as a teaser which obviously alluded to everyone that a buff was finally coming to the anemic Vickers HMG, instead no buff and it's just a thumbnail update? Come on, there's no way you can handle PR that bad, you have to be purposefully trolling. Why would you even include a scope in the thumbnail without a buff of some sort?

Another anemic ass update which was senselessly hyped for no reason. It's not that I'm opposed to many of the changes in the update, almost all of them are great and needed, I'm glad to finally see AA lethality increased, but these are tiny changes, many of which should have been implemented well before release. You go absolutely silent for weeks before giving overhyped teasers and release a patch that hardly does much. Your "long term plans" mean nothing for this game when we have 300 average players left and that number is still rapidly plummeting every day. This game isn't going to last more than a few months if you keep this up.

Madman is still salty about Waterloo

I'll have to get in line with most of the others here and say that, yes, the changes are in fact rather welcome, but the way the patch was advertised probably had almost everyone hoping for more.

And, for what it's worth, I think it's perfectly fine to get people excited about some new art, but if it's only going to be art, it's probably best to point that out. The Vickers picture was interpreted by many as a hint that there were changes incoming. Changes to a weapon/unit that could use them, mind you. What did people get in the end? The nice art they knew about already and disappointment about the Vickers still being unable to actually do what it should be doing.

Nice patch, good changes. Played a game today, and it was nice to see the AA performing better and infantry rifles firing on the move was a welcome change.

However I was playing after a long break and I must say that seeing the game with a fresh pair of eyes again was an eye opener. It's still the same Steel Division alright. The UI is as rigid as I remembered and the online player count has steadily dropped. When playing, it feels like an ok game but that's pretty much it - as we talked with my buddy after the match, it felt like an ok game but just feels like it lacks the fun. I don't know how I used to like it much more, maybe it was the novelty and/or the fresh player base and simply new content of a new game but now that it's all stripped from the equation it feels that very little remains. Also Eugen's communication strategy leaves a lot to be desired. I'm afraid that the train has gone already, and the opportunity to hold on to the community was lost due to the lacking community management.

I think the biggest parts of the new patch:
-infantry can now dash small distances under fire without getting stuck forever
-airplanes are getting damaged more often and more severely which forces them to repair for longer periods of the game(hopefully).

srsly, what the heck guys, i spent almost 200 h in your game, i did buy it and the whole Wargame series! I streamed it, i refer it to my friends, i ve made a youtube videos, i ve tried to do my best as a player to keep the game alive! Why on the earth are you slinging me off?!?! You call this "The major UPDATE!" seems like a usuall weekly patch. I like the changes, but it's unacceptable with you trying to make that hype on nothing. You want players to get back and try the changes, nah, i feel myself so frustrated now so i don't even want to start the game. Why are you force us to suffer disappointments?

These are some pretty hefty changes- it's not division level stuff, but the vet, aa, and suppression changes are pretty significant to all the gameplay.
