As the King of the North, I personally believe 400 gold is a bit much to give my child a proper military education. What file can I modify to make these costs more to my liking? Thanks in advance to whoever can help with this.

It's also a huge problem for the AI, especially now that debt triggers a revolt risk (which makes large realms that aren't run by the Targs unplayable).

I was just thinking this yesterday. Education costs more than minor improvements to holdings. I think money really needs to be redone in the mod in total.

I found the file, but alas, I cannot figure out what to change. At least, nothing obvious jumps out at me. Any ever tried to change this?
Nothing obvious? The second event has a bunch of scaled_wealth commands in which are what you need to change

What a helpful suggestion of you! Please give us actual specific ideas as opposed "It is crap, need to be changed"

Ok, for starters; don't make the cost of educating five children more than the amount you would spend on a sell-sword army of 10,000 men. Better? And the dowry cost as well (It doesn't make sense to have to hand over your entire life saving because you married your kid off to some King or LP). Money needs to be scaled (not by feudal tier) - not the arbitrary mess that it currently is.

Edit: sorry if this came off as hostile (not my intention). You guys do great work.

He never said it was crap and did give a suggestion, making education and dowries less ruinously expensive to all but the richest Houses.

Oh no, the "its crap" was just a short hand colloquialism. I didn't think you were raining hell against us in a holy crusade to topple the education costs xD

Yeah I believe education costs are based on personal income? Because Kings on the Iron Throne seem to pay much, much more than minor lords. I wouldn't mind that, IF paying a lot like that would give them an excellent education as opposed to a mediocre one for the minor lords, but I don't think that's possible to implement. Should probably just be a set amount.

I think its 400 gold for emperor-level titles. In fact, in one game it completely bankrupted me right before I got invaded and had my ass kicked because I couldn't afford any mercenaries. It's just crazy.

I would say a nice change in educaion, instead of remaking all these values, is to allow, along with the type of education, the quality of it. So keeping the tier-related price changes, you should be allowed 3 or so levels of education, that would change the chances of getting better traits at the end of the education chain.

THIS!!! A million times this!!! So sick of all non-canon characters being shit because the AI cant educate properly.

The education is way too expensive. especially with the bigger number of children and mortality rate of the children.
Sorry the cost should be 6 gold instead of 60 and 40 instead of 400.

Now lets take 7 kids each parents, that is roughly 420 gold pieces for the AI if they are not educating other people kids.
Sorry AI is getting into the minus too quickly in AGOT mod cause they are constantly warring. let alone have another handicap like kids education.

It will get worst with HL 4.0 upgrade when the AI is finally building and upgrading there holdings.
Education cost should really be lowered.

So I tried setting all the " wealth = " to -50 instead of of -250 or -400 and set the " scaled_wealth " to 0, but nothing seems to have changed.
I changed scaled wealth to 0.1 for the AI and 0.3 for me, and it worked.
