Where can I find my save files?

Sorry for the super-newb question but my Targ heir got the West Valyrian culture and I want to edit it back to a High Valyrian. I can't find the proper files to edit though, which one is it?

You can do it with the console ( by pressing Shift + § ) and then changing it that way. Type in charinfo to get the characters ID and then type in: culture <ID> high_Valyrian.

Do I need a certain program for opening the save files? Cause I can't open them?

Do I need a certain program for opening the save files? Cause I can't open them?

Save files get compressed by default. Uncheck the box next to file name when saving, then you can open the file with Notepad++ or another text editor.

Compression of autosaves can be turned off in Game Options -> Game.
