Hey,
I had a very good game on a map i really liked, in my save game, it says the coordinate is on 18N 118E, but when i type in those coordinates now, i get a completely different map. What gives? Is my map gone forever, or can i find it somewhere else??

Here is the savegame file where the "Telescope" is the map i want and the "where is this", is the new map on same coordinate.

There are two possibilities. First, the Sagan update changed all the maps, so if your savegame predated that patch, you're not going to get it anymore. Second, I think the "randomize tech" rule may also change the map you're given.

Thanks, i see that patches has changed map seeds over the course of time since release. I just want a somewhat flat map with grouped resources, that allows me to build domes much closer together and not spread out all over the place. It's more of a design issue for me, and perfectionist compulsion. Maybe i will find a good map again.
