Why can't I annect my vassal?

Hello there.

Im playing as Prussia in the IGC and I got Kleve as my vassal. They have been that for over 20 years now, 200+ relation all the time. But there is no "annect this contry" buttom coming up! What am I doing wrong?

you need to have a border with them to annex them

Common border (or walkable strait) AND no war where one of you is involved with and the other one is not. Or at least the annexee-to-be cannot be involved in a war.

Ok, thanks alot! This really helps me alot since I now got Brandenburg as my vassal and I have a common border whit them.

Annexation doesn't necessarily work?

I spent three centuries as Russia trying to annex Pskov, and got nowhere. Annexation doesn't seem to work without a miltary alliance with the annexee in place, but that could just be coincidence. Kept them in the alliance, surrounded them with Russian territory, kept them at 200 friendship, but no joy from the good people of Pskov.
