Yeah and that's why i always say - rework the countering. It encourages mono armies instead, no matter how you tweak the numbers on it
Maybe instead of one type of troops being especially effective against other, specific types of troops, the presence of uncountered (by a non-neglible numbers) MAA should contribute dramatically to the advantage?

I mean, less light horsemen will destroy archers specificially mentality, and more the presence of archers will add dramatical advantage to enemy unless you have some counter to keep them in check (and so on for the other five types of MAA that you don't have any counters for).

That's still more than just number tweaking, but yeah, that sounds way better than what we have now too.

isn't it like that now? Countering reduces MAA damages.

Does it? My bad!, but anyway: looking at the mechanics of it, I don’t think reducing the damage of specific troops (based heavily on the ratio) is like what I meant at all.

What I thought about would rather be e.g. tying the fact that you have five different type of uncountered troops into a big Advantage factor (you have freedom to act!), while the enemy’s big stack of Heavy Infantry does not really provide an Advantage here (you are basically limited to the one type of tactics); regardless, that may be a very bad idea, since – unlike Devs or modders – I am nowhere near professionar designer of anything.
