Why is it so hard to just get the game started..cant get past launcher!

I cant even load a patch or anything. I bought it from gamers gate. Why did I buy this when I knew I should wait at least a year?

I'm pretty sure your download is bad - nothing to do with the game itself. Uninstall the game and manually delete all related files, and delete the GG installer too. Download a fresh copy from them and try the whole process again.
