why my bastard character is creating is own dynasty ???

Hi

so i played in 867 start as nomad. i see an achievement, starting est and going west, easy enough lets go select a character full east. first click Borjigin dynasty, hum that's gengis's dynasty ! let's go

problem, the character is a bastard, and as soon as i get a child, he makes is own dynasty and become a bastard founder. so my dynasty goes from 6 people to 2 people loosing 66% of my family just like that pouf ! and am not from gengis dynasty anymore :'(

anyway to stop my guy from becoming a bastard founder ?

Shouldn‘t you be able to legitimise him as dynasty head?

yeah, this ones a history file issue imported straight from ck2. just a dumb problem that shouldnt exist. you basically cannot stop this from happening unless you edit the mongol.txt file to give all these early borjigins the legitimized bastard or bastard founder trait instead. this wont solve an ongoing save but it will prevent it from happening in future ones

for an ongoing save, youll have to use either debug mode or a cheat mod to get rid of the bastard trait if you dont want this to happen. alternatively, after your mother dies and you become dynasty head, legitimize one or more of your siblings (im pretty sure you cant legitimize yourself) and never have any kids of your own. dont marry them off until after this happens or THEY will create a bastard dynasty. marry infertile women over the age of 45 to take up the spouse council slot and you wont be missing out on much

if you could matri-marry a female dynast, you could have kids of your own and keep the borjigin dynasty, but i think tengri disallows avunculate marriage so you cant matri-marry your niece. youd have to marry a grandniece and at that point honestly why bother, just flip to one of the incest meme faiths and marry your own mother or sister or something

ok so since my mum is my heir at the start, am going try to die in a hunt at the start, play as my mum, and legitimise all my brothers

thats an option, sure. lot of rng involved though. youd probably have an easier time just murdering her for quick access to dynasty head interactions

maybe youll get a lucky roll and die first try though so what the hell, worth a shot

that's the option as i am not the dynasty head heir, my little brother who isn't a bastard is.

unless my mum would kindly legitimize me ? is it even possible ?

there is, i believe, an event chain that can possibly trigger, but you are once again relying on rng to be kind to you. its weird that theres no direct character interaction to just ask for it but it is what it is
