It's all part of a genius marketing strategy for the announcement of Imperator 2 at PDXCON.
That makes a lot of sense, there is not a single panel on today’s announced PDXCON REMIXED agenda for Imperator. Hence, the new game from PDX is Imperator 2:cool:o_O

EDITED: In Imperator 2 you can zoom in to watch battles perform in beautiful 3D with formations and assaults being displayed in Real Time.

EDITED2: attention to detail is max, a la Red Redemption II, with Roman legionaries balls shrinking in frigid climates.

EDITED3: in a future DLC a Roman Legionaire Editor (TM) by HOI IV will allow the player to customize all aspects of their units, including genitalia.

You forgot to mention crude grafitti and phallic drawings on the walls of Roman city houses.

The City Skylines team have been busy working on that DLC too: Roma Eterna, build your aqueducts!

Honestly, I'm just guessing here, but I imagine that Tinto QA differs from the regular Paradox QA. Something obviously wasn't really clicking here.

New studio, new issues. I think they'll sort it, with time.

"smooth"

surely you are joking

but i do feel the need to apologize to Imperators dev team, i used to think 2.0 having a lot of bugs at launch (still too thou) was an issue with Imperator alone, now i realize thats just how Paradox works.

Oh my sweet summer child...

Imperator 2.0 is by far the most bug-free launch I have seen in 15 years playing paradox games. (Baring maybe some of the other Imperator patches.)

All jokes aside, I'm not a city skylines player, but I would pay good money for a city skylines stile city builder in an ancient (or even medieval) setting.
Same. I've been wanting an intricate, non-cartoony style city builder set in the Mediaval or earlier period for a long, long time. Let me build Rome in a day!!

yeah i only started playing Paradox games with Imperator and CKIII, so still didnt knew just how awful their releases are at launch, so i kinda feel bad for the harsh criticism to the dev team.

i dont know how the usual Paradox players have becone accustomed to this treatment

Can you tell your benchmark for bug free on day one software company? I have been around for some years now and I do not know any

EDIT: with internet and specially with 2.0, we are more vocal but before there were as many issues as they are now and software was less complex

Aah, that explains it. I was wondering how somebody could consider Marius "unpolished".

For what it's worth: You have now seen the complete range. Leviathan is the worst launch of any PDS developed game (except maybe that one time Stellaris accidentally put the wrong version live). Gettysburg was worse, but that was only published by PDX, not developed in house.

Technically, Tinto isn't PDS? I'm not trying to be an ass here, I'm just wondering how it all is set up.

I think so too (it isn't). But it's an expansion for a mainline PDS game, developed by a team lead by Johan himself.

When writing the other post I actually went back and forth a bit on whether I should point out this detail - but in the end I decided it wasn't worth diluting the core argument.

Yeah, didn't mean to derail you, sorry.

Huge fan of CS here, I also remember enjoyed playing Pharaoh and Caesar when I was younger so something similar would be amazing.

In fact, Builders of Egypt will be released soon:
It might be worth giving it a try.

Isn't Pharaoh even getting a true remake this year (Pharaoh: A new Era)...?
