I just bought this off of ebay for like 13.00 and when I got it it was the UK version by UBISoft.

1st question which I think the answer is no but I will ask, is if I live in North America and I buy a overseas version (didnt know it was) will it not work on my computer?

again I think it doesnt but Im checking.

2nd question I can go into the menu and look around at the scenarios but when I pick one to play or any tutorials it acts like it is going to start up and then crashes. It completly closes down the game and I did try with the initial install and with version 1.07 upgrade as well.

am I missing something? I do have xp pro and hearts of Iron works great but this game is not yet.

thanks for anyones help, Im dying to try playing this

Support forum, anyone?

I don't think that the fact that its an overseas version should make it not work, since they use the same computers we do... unless its like a different alphabet and your computer dosen't mate that text support or something...

it will work fine...the difference is that your version was distributed only on the British market and the NA on the American one....but they have different patches, though

second: don't have a clue

Most likely you are suffering the good old XP binkplay problem (which even has a sticky thread in the support forum, I believe). Rename the AVI folder in the EU2 root to something else (for instance AVI_old), then try running it again. You will lose out on the cinematics but also hopefully get rid of the immediate crashes upon starting scenarios.

If you rename the AVI folder and still suffer crashes, try reading up on the sticky threads in the support forum as they cover a number of common problems. :)

Try to go into the game folder and rename the folder called "AVI" to something else. This stops the intro video being played and apparently there is some conflict between XP and that video player. This has helped for some people... can't promise anything though.

Edit: Drat, 2 minutes too late.:)
