You can probably have it by 1493 or 1494 if you want it. Just attack and annex two hoards.

Getting a high BB with Russia is not a challenge at all. It's also completely unnecessary. You can get every Siberian province, and for that matter every single Persian, Indian, Chinese, Indochinese, and Japanese province, and never have a BB over 10.

Okay, here's another BB question.

Playing Austria, it's 1556, BB is 0.

In my game I have resolve not to DoW on any European ever. Maybe I'll get bored and destroy someone, but so far so good.

As a test, I DoW'd on Wurtemberg, without a CB. I'm Catholic, they are Protestant. They are allied with Baden, who is Catholic, and Helvetica, who is Protestant. I did not call upon my allies.

It was a nasty little war. I did a "save game" with things in the following condition:

1) Annexed Wurtemberg (one province).
2) White peace with Baden (I offered after smacking them).
3) Still at war with Helvetica.
4) It's late 1559, so no BB decay.

BB is 10. I understand I got 4 points for the DoW, but apparently I got the "SR" annexation penalty (5+1).

So apparently I am not allowed to annex Protestants. SR means any Christian if you are Christian? This is what it seems like.

Interesting question, but I could swear I got similarly slammed when I blasted one of these single-province guys after they converted to Protestant while in an alliance with me, which gave me a CB, but that was a different game.

Your both Christians (I have yest to test where the Orthodox stand on this =)

Works the same between the muslims too (shia vs sunni)

Very interesting. I believed it was like the huge penality you get to the relations with countries sharing the same religion than the annexed one... "same religion" meaning "catholics" or "reformed", etc...


Perhaps you should point it out in your thread about BBs.

I backed out the war, and sat there and was peaceful for a while. Suddenly, the same little one-province country (with no allies) attacked.

I annexed the country and got a bunch of BB. So in case anyone is wondering, you get the full SR annexation penalty even if you are Catholic and annex a Protestant who attacks you.

Perhaps you should point it out in your thread about BBs.

It is pointed out, especially in the Beta FAQ (where one should first go if not really shure about what things mean).

BB woes...

Jeez, I wish I'd known about bb before I started my first GC... It's presently 1692, and the rampaging armies of the evil, vicious, mad emperor of England...have been almost wiped out by approximately 35 years of near constant warfare.
Getting 3 diplomats a year and about 5 DoW's I thought it would be a good idea to try for peace by just annexing those nations which kept declaring war. It sounded like such a good idea! but my exhausted soldiers were crawling into Moldavia by the time I started to think 'hmmm, overstretch...' Not to mention getting greedy in India.

Anyhoo, quick question. I (being a newbie) do not have the IGC patch, but I have read posts suggesting that while I'm waiting to download it, I can enter and tweak my saved game files to change parameters. Specifically I want to change which nations are majors, so that I can get them off the map and tidy things up. Could anyone tell me how to make these changes, every time I try the file becomes unusable.
P.S. or could I load my current game into the IGC? I doubt it but who knows...
