i´m pretty sure you know about this problem: when you continue a savegame all abilities of your monarch (eg. technical, organized,..) are lost. the leader screen still shows the abilities, but you wont get any more goodies except for random events. i´m not sure if this also affects AI-monarchs but this is a critical bug anyway as it has major consequences on gameplay. a good monarch could give you some manufactories, nice fleets, new armies and thousands of technic points in a few years - think about that.
the best solution to prevent this **** bug is to session games from reign to reign. there are still some probs:
1. a reign could take 30 or even more years - you´ll need a lot fo time
2. if EU crashes, you have to reload
3. monarchs with abilities usually also have a strong military ability which (i guess) also strenghten your army power. if you take advantage of this and fight some wars at 2mins/1month a reign takes forever.
