Galactic Paragons and the First Contact Story Pack are now available for Stellaris: Console Edition!

With the First Contact Story Pack the galaxy is full of alien empires you’re going to encounter, whether you’re ready or not. First Contact offers a set of new origins and mechanics that allow players to tell stories about their civilizations’ early encounters with visitors from the stars — ones that may not have come in peace!

AD_4nXevBpe6hDpy9ZoaPL-6I0D6MohwwXBWmrwaDC4S2YJptOGFyN6iPSmwi86-5NcHb0CaT2eK_MtT4MCkm95wQ2VnSj0_4lZSSzmMb5YpqW2p-yitbZKvv5NJonGT81eOFiAiVpJcwQ

First Contact Features:
  • New Origins
    • Payback - Your civilization was invaded by – and repelled – an advanced invader from the stars. With access to their technology, your empire is now ready to enter the galactic stage and find out just what else is out there.
    • Broken Shackles - Band together as the survivors of a crashed slaver ship and build a diverse empire with multiple species from across the galaxy. Embark on a quest to find your various homeworlds, as long as you escape the prying eyes of your former captors.
    • Fear of the Dark - A portion of your population has embraced isolationism and xenophobia, ever since a planet in your solar system suffered an “incident”. Will you ignore their concerns and explore the stars, making “friends” along the way? Or will you appease their isolationism in order to grow your civilization even more powerful?
  • New Pre-FTL interactions
  • Enhanced mechanics for observation and diplomacy
  • New Espionage Operations for infiltrating and uplifting pre-FTL targets
  • New stories and events
  • Unique Pre-FTL civilization: Renewable Society
  • Added Pre-FTL Hiveminds (requires Utopia + First Contact)
  • Pre-FTL civilizations can have a small chance to spawn with one of the following origins:
    • Shattered Ring (Requires Federations)
    • Mechanists (Requires Utopia)
    • Life-Seeded (Requires Apocalypse)
    • Ocean Paradise (Requires Aquatics Species Pack)
    • Subterranean (Requires Overlord)
  • 12 new Insight Technologies added - A new category of techs gained from observed Pre-FTLs
  • New Civics allowing early jump drive based exploration at the cost of starting without Hyperdrives:
    • Eager Explorers
    • Private Exploration
    • Stargazers
    • Exploration Protocol
  • Added Cloaking and Cloaking Detection
    • Up to 10 levels of Cloaking/Cloaking Detection, with smaller hulls being easier to cloak than larger hulls
    • Military Ships cannot be detected by normal sensors, may ignore closed borders as long as they remain undetected, and can decloak to ambush hostile ships
    • Science Ships may cloak to explore beyond closed borders, gather intel from other empires’ planets, and boost cloaking detection of a starbase

Thanks for playing Stellaris: Console Edition!
Will we get some of the other updates PC had with this update has such as:

1. The AI no longer requesting to be subjugated by empires that are equivalent or weaker than them? This happened in a playthrough I had with a ton of Xenophile and Pacifist AI empires that made my game very boring. The stronger peaceful empires kept asking weaker or equal empires that were more aggressive to subjugate them.

2. Is trust now more important in subject/overlord relationships?

3. Are certain AI personalities (Federation Builders, Spiritual Seekers, Migrating Flocks, and Peaceful Traders) are now 25x more likely to select Diplomacy traditions.

4. Does having a hydroponic designation on a habitat change the jobs on housing districts to farmers?

5. Does the habitat rework have an impact on the AI to decrease habitat spam?

Well I haven't noticed any serious bugs yet, but some text windows won't output or parties/factions don't get a leader, well you still have some work to do. But all in all I am satisfied with the release, good work dear console development team.

Edit: I have to slowly revise my statement, if you take a look at the bug reports. To be honest, I think it's a bit stupid that after paying 30€ for the expansion pass (even though I already had the Toxoids) I'm now allowed to be your beta tester.

Most changes/bug fixes/improvements from the PC versions should have made it to console, but there are some that were not possible (eg. coop) due to technical limitations. If you find something that demonstratably does not work on Console but works on PC, that is very likely a bug and deserves a bug report.

You can submit bug reports here: https://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/forums/stellaris-console-edition-bug-reports.1070/

Honestly the best xmas present i could have asked for, been absolutely dying for this as someone whose pc is too slow to run it properly. Sincerely, thank you, took your time but it was worth it in the end. Few questions.

Is there anychance of ever getting large galaxies on ps5, medium is just a tad too small imho. Its playable but ten empires just isnt enough when youve got tgis much customization.

Has anyone raised the idea of adding some form of space traffic as a visual addition to trade routes and if so what was the verdict. I think this would hugely affect the aesthetic in a positive way (you could do the same for piracy) and would be worth a dlc all to itself money wise.

How profitable is console vs pc

That being said, great work, brought it the moment i seen it and i swear i nearly cried iv been hankering for this update that much. Having played these dlc on pc for a bit going back to being without them on console was just unplayable. Thay should tell you how good these dlc are.

thanks for the update, many good features, but I've encountered game breaking bug on Xbox in the middle of the play(new game after update). When I reloaded save, I don't see any notifications. This is game breaking because I can't reply to empires diplomacy, even though I get sound notifications, etc.
I tried deleting cache, uninstalled game, but still same.
