Hello all
This is Paul Gautier, Art Director for Airport Simulator: First Class.
I'm back for the third and final vote on our collaborative airline, and this time we're going to talk about planes. Playrion is a studio of aviation fans, whether through our first Airlines Manager game, or with Airport Simulator, and we are very careful to represent them well in our games.
For each new company, the first step is to ask ourselves what aircraft they will be operating. Usually, we choose three or four aircraft for a company. *
This choice depends on several factors. Roleplay factors: what is the type of the company, what are the planes that would best represent it... But also factors related to our production issues: so, depending on the scale of the company, we make new 3D models of planes or not.
Here, you voted for a realistic company, inspired by a real Singaporean company.
To take this into account in your roleplay, we started by looking at the fleet of the real airline we are inspired by. We look at which models are the most present, but also which were the first orders, or the last ones, or if an aircraft was created for this company and is therefore linked in terms of the image of the airline. We also discard planes that could be linked to crashes or tragedies, so as not to evoke these events in our players, some of whom work in civil aviation.
I take care of this step in collaboration with the game designers.
Then we look at what planes are present in the game, and it is up to my colleague Léonard Carpentier, the Producer, to handle it. Depending on what the new airline brings, he decides how much time we have for the realization of new planes, since a new plane needs, in addition to the livery of its airline, a 3D model detailed enough to be admired from every angle in the Hangar.
We have already chosen them and I will give you the list below.
We are also working on new planes for the second airline that I announced we're working on in parallel. I'm not going to say more about it, except that it will operate a 757-300.
This is what the 3D model of our 757-300 looks like at this stage of production.
------------------------------------------------------------
Once this choice is made, we move on to the aircraft. I start making the 2D liveries while my colleagues work on the 3D models of the aircraft. This allows us to think about the artistic direction of the liveries without losing time on the other steps.
It is in this process that we propose you to intervene.
I have made several livery proposals, and I let you choose which one will be the official livery of Singapura Airlines.
Some information: the fleet of Singapura Airlines will be composed of A350, Boeing 777, and Boeing 787.
You vote for the livery and not for the plane because these three planes will be present.
We have put a proposed livery on each aircraft, but we will apply the winning livery design to all three aircraft models.
Vote from April 27th
So what livery design should be on all three Singapura aircraft?
Will it be Livery 1, Livery 2, or Livery 3?
Once the final livery is chosen between the different iterations, it will be up to our 3D artist to take the completed model of the plane and create the texture of the livery on it. This is all done in the Unity engine, and it is exactly the same process as creating the airport buildings.
You can vote either in the stories of our Instagram, which here is the link: https://www.instagram.com/airportsimulatorfirstclass/, or directly on our discord that you can join here https://discord.gg/VzMbWAk8Cz. The vote will start on Thursday, April 27th, and last until Tuesday, May 2th.

For Singapura, we will make 3 new planes!
