Scheduled for 1.3!When bald heirs fix?!
Not a joke! Turns out bald heirs is actually a surprisingly difficult bug to fix, but we're going to address it for the next version.I can’t figure out if that’s a joke or not.
Generally so that it's possible for us to put out a hotfix before the weekend if there are critical CTDs or similar issues.Everything looks absolutely fantastic ! I've never been this eager to return to playing a game after an update.
I have a sort of unrelated question though. I've noticed that for many PDS games, updates or expansions tend to be released in the beginning (generally Monday or Tuesday) as opposed to being released right before the weekend on Friday or Thursday. Is there a specific reason for this scheduling ?
You mean compared to the Open Beta build? A lot of things were rebalanced for 1.2. Assuming you mean balancing after 1.2, yes, we have some thoughts for how to deal with excessive unemployment by the late game through creating more opportunities for a service economy once you get that far. If it works out well in testing it should be coming in a subsequent update.Do you have any kind of planned rebalancing of population growth, unemployment and economy growth? Maybe it's an issue with me but I find with most countries by late game my population growth is so high that I can't expand my economy quick enough to absorb everyone, so I have really high unemployment. This is particularly an issue as big countries. Unemployment is really crippling to either SoL or to your budget with welfare payments so it's annoying.
They have been tweaked since 1.2.3, and all arrows are now visible in the Military Lens (+ a bunch of other tweaks).I requested it a while back, but the arrows that display these - can we get them permanently visible on the map in times of war?
They should be available from the Lens and Right-click menus for a State, a Building and a Building Type. It is not fully as visible as I'd like, so it is something we'll be looking at how to improve in the future. Is this in the beta or only coming out on the full patch? I haven't actually seen where to use this feature in-game. If it is actually in the beta, you might want to consider making it more readily visible because I have literally never seen it.
This was discussed, but we opted for having the tax with the highest impact on top to highlight the differences. But I agree, it is harder to compare, and it can look messy at times, so it is probably something we'll revisit at a later date. One suggestion I saw a while back (not mine, I forget whose it was or else I'd credit them) which I did not see on the beta, can you make it so the tax types are always listed in the same order?
Sorry, not for 1.2. However, I can say that I am currently looking into some sort of customization for Alerts for a future update, so I might be able to do something like that when we get to implementing that. Can we get an option to disable alerts for a specific decision? A toggle that says "I don't want to be alerted about this decision specifically".
Basically, any IGs in the party that has ideologies that disagree on what laws to favor compared to the most powerful IG in the party has their incoherence score for those ideologies reduced. Can you go into a little more detail on how this works? I also noticed a loading screen detailing this in the Beta, but still confused on how it actually works.
That's correct. Worth noting that this "national standard" is also used when building a brand new building, so you don't start a new railway off with steam locomotives if your existing railways all use diesel for example.I believe it sets a buildings PMs to whatever the plurality of that building type has. Say you have a bunch of Food Industries with "Sweeteners" and "Pot Stills" and youve now conquered a new state, pressing that button will set the Food Industries in that state to the aforementioned PMs, for every building.
We've really enjoyed doing the open beta and I think it's definitely paid off in patch quality, so we're for sure going to do this again. The beta has been great! What I am interested in is whether this approach will become standard for future Vicky patches? It has been so good to let the community try the beta and give input on it. This makes it possible for the community to give more feedback before release, which I find increases the quality of new content. Please make this the standard!
This actually appears to be a mistake in the patch notes, what was changed is to remove the Scottish people alongside the English ones when India option is picked in the EIC breakup event. This is inaccurate, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scottish-Indian this page suggests there were Scottish people in India since 1771 as part of the East India Company and the British Raj later on.
