Hi all! I am new to EU: Rome but i am not new to the genre and modding the genre (i've done some modding in Eu3).

I want to present to you a small modification to Rome:

POPULUS

This is a mod for VV which adds several nations to fill up the boring regions and increase the tribe-tribe conflicts, rather than having to wait and then colonize. I've completed the countries mostly based on my study at school of Caesar's "De bello Gallico" and the history of my country.

The countries added are:

Allobrogres
Ambrones
Aquitani
Bastarnae
Batavi
Bellovaci
Bituriges
Carpi
Cimbri
Costoboci
Lemovi
Menapii
Remi
Rugii
Tiberni
Tomis
Turones
Varini
Veneti

Here's a screenshot:
rome_map_1.jpg

To play the mod extract the files into Eu:Rome main folder.
Future additions may be scheduled for the mod. I'm open to ideas.

I've also seen that we have some good mods here each with good features. What if we combined all those and make something like MM for Rome?:p

Welcome. :D

Always nice to see country-additions, not really a big fan of barbarian hordes since I'm not one who plays Rome all that much, so they are pretty irrelevant for me.

The countries added are:

What'd you change in /decisions/conversions.txt, if anything? Looks the same as the original by the look of it.

I presume you mean /mod/ folder. ;)

I've also seen that we have some good mods here each with good features. What if we combined all those and make something like MM for Rome?:p

That would be Imperium (formerly known as the Mod Collection), which I tried making nations of my own to. But haven't yet gotten troubleshooting on the freezes happening in it. Hmmm.. That's an idea. Testing the files in vanilla to see if Imperium causes it. Why did I not think of that before. >_>

I only added in countries. Thats all.
And no, i meant Rome main folder.:p As i said i've done some modding and i'd also like to help with what i can? In that case i think i should post in the Imperium forum.

Very cool. I'm reading through Caesar's Gallic Wars at the moment, so it's good to see more potential for inter-tribal stuff. Keep it up!

Heh. I listened to it on a semi-dry but thorough unabridged version of a British audiobook (or atleast voiceactor. And not using semi-dry as a derogative!). 16 hours long if I'm not mistaken, but it covers 3 "De bello"-commentaries, I think it was. :)

Looks cool and interesting. I hope you'll add in more content over time.
In any case for my next game i'll give it a try with this.

As for combining, Descartes is all for that. You should give him a poke by pm.

Some more titles for the tribes and Greeks would be great! ^^
And make the tribes a bit more stable -> constant stability hit spam early on is insane.
Some more laws for the Tribes and Greeks would be great too!

EDIT: Tried it out. Loved it. However Rome of course advances rapidly. Which can be a problem.

Looks awsome but I can't get it to work. I've placed it in the both the mod file and the folder in my main EuIII:Rome directory but when i start the game it's the vanilla version. Please help me.

put both into your ...eu-rome/mod/ - folder and choose the mod at startscreen. then it should work.

Thanks for the help, now it showes up in the tab where you can choose mods but when i start the game it says:
File exception:
Exception in: .\discfile.cpp, line:424. Desription: Could not open file: common\countries/pirates.txt

and when i press ok it says:

Runtime Error!

Program:C:\Program...

This application has requested the Runetimr to treminate it in an unsual way.
Please contact the application's support team for more infomation.

EDIT: didn't notice that i needed VV for the mod until now.
