It was a Mexican standoff that happened... Terran scientists uncovered later upon hearing the distress beacon from the downed Medivac a few days later. Technical Sergeant John Tigh-Heisman, decorated Marine veteran of the earlier war with the Zerg, and Corporal Jamie Bond, the man born on Europa VII, had suddenly turned on each other, each thinking that more chance of survival lay if the other was dead. It was a fatal mistake. Private Dale "Tornado" Li had not come back, and the injured Medivac pilot Allan "AOK Eleven" Dael was unable to move. Or was it? After the fatal rifle shots had blasted each other's armor apart, Allan's face started to melt, revealing a monstrosity of a Changeling. As its claws pierced the two men's throats, starting to infest their bodies, it whispered... "It is over... Dale won't come back to you. I had my neck broken when we crashed anyway." as it held back a sinister laugh. "The Queen of Blades admires your resilience, but unfortunately, you cannot bring the intellect that matched it with you. WE ARE THE SWARM." There ended the last recording from the downed Medevac. Private Dale's body was found a few hours later, turned to a pile of mush and acid.
