My wife and I both recently bought the Majesty 2 collection off of Steam. We've both only played Majesty 2, no expansion play yet. She is able to build the temple to hire Ice Mages, I can not. She doesn't remember what she did to open them, and I can't find any information about it (which is mind-boggling in 2011).

Does anyone know how to unlock the Ice Mages legitimately (no file or registry edits)? Please, as specific and thourough of a spoiler as possible.

I have installed Majesty 2 Collection and I couldn't get Ice Mages in plain Majesty 2.
My sister could though.

Come on. 39 views and no one knows? There's a video game that's been out for more than a week without the players knowing every secret and exploit?

What about you guys at Paradox? Mods? Willing to spill the beans? Please?

Edit.

Just did a quick check. When she clicks the DLC button on the main menu, Ice Mage shows up in that list as "Free!"...right above Temple to Lunord. It's not in my DLC list, but Lunord is.

Her Ice Mages are kicking my booty in multiplayer...someone help me maintain my manly dignity! ;)

Yes, I am online when I start the game. I agree Ice Mages are part of a DLC. The problem seems to be that you need to do something to unlock them first. My wife managed to accidentally stumble across the unlock and I have not.

Not to sound rude, but does anyone have a response that isn't either "Me, too!" or "Have you tried turning it off and back on again?"

I can help you out, but with a bit of an illegal way. Technically, it is illegal. Practically, it is not, because I am making the free content available for you.

Up to you to decide.

There's obviously a legitimate way...my wife has unlocked them. I've seen a thread explaining a fairly simple looking file edit that will open them (though I think it's for an unpatched version of the game), but would rather not go that route since I don't have to (as the Ice Mage is available without any shenanigans).

Very strange these days to not only find a (fairly mainstream, triple-A) game where the players don't know every little thing about it. Even stranger to find such a game with virtually no web presence.

Pretty sure if you just have Majesty 2 as a standalone, you need to go to the online store and "purchase" the free content. Then it will show up in your content and you can use it. Also make sure you have it all patched up. The content was added in a patch post-release.

I R sad. No one seems to know how to unlock these guys legitimately. I've asked a question and I can't just Google up the answer. The interwebs have failed me.

I'm still holding out hope that a Mod or Dev will share this secret. Someone, somewhere HAS to know and be willing to share. :(

Yes, every other DLC is there. Fifth Gen weapons. Knowledge of the Old Ones. Mystic Missions. Temple to Lunord. Extra castle skins. Each of those packs have thier induvidual components listed. I compared my list to my wife's. She has everything, including Ice Mages. I have everything, BUT Ice Mages.

My initial gamer reaction was "They must be hidden on a map. Find them and I'll be able to build them." But I've scoured every campaign map to the corners and no luck. I'm starting to think "corrupted installation".

I found a fix! Goto: steam\Steamapps\common\majesty 2 collection\support and then you will find an exe file which is called "InstallDLC".
Run it and after it's installed, run the game! Check the DLC then in-game!

P.S Backup your profile before doing this!!! (my documents)

I don't know really. I was looking through folders and when I found support, in it there was install dlc. It had to do something with the DLC so I just installed it, turned on the game and it worked! LOL! :)

Grmbl, no support folder in the Impulse version of the collection. Have ne1 managed to activate the collection when bought from impulse? My ticket to their sales department have been running for over a week now with mails back and forth...

I have Majesty 2 Collection and that's why I have support folder with Install DLC in it. Since it installs all the addons. I don't know about a fix for different versions though.

What the heck is DLC?!?!?!?!?

I bought this game at Amazon and downloaded. I can't find any of these files nor this InstallDLC.exe you all are talking about.

Please help.

PS: WHAT in-game store are you all talking about?
