Jan, is it safe to assume you're in command (yay naval pun) of the NWAC facebook page?

Small point of order: when displaying 2400 time, one does not use the colon ":". Thus it is 1500 vice 15:00. Also "Zulu" is no longer used as it is considered politically incorrect (the Zulu peoples of Africa are being singled out); instead the proper term is now "GMT" (Greenwich Mean Time). So ... 1500 GMT would be the correct way to display the time. There are internet articles on using "UTC" vice "GMT" but I can tell you that in the Canadian military we use "GMT"; I guess the question would be, what would be used in 2030 when your game takes place? UTC is atomic clock based so maybe it's the winner. Keep up the good work on the game!

im really pleased that totalbiscuit did this review. without it i would never have discovered this amazing game, i hope that this video does draw in alot more serious fans

DO WANT!

Will we be able to play missions in realtime?

Thanks!

You mean 1:1 time compression? Sure. That's up to you!

For competitive multiplayer, our thought is that the contestants will agree on the time compression factor beforehand. We'll see if it's possible to come up with some negotiation system for changing it mid-game, but most likely it will be either fast, brutal and frantic, or slow and... well, brutal and frantic :)

The mission we played at Gamescom was made to be slow paced so we had time to talk. You'll notice that the nearest Russian airbase is far away.

The OOB is:

NATO: 1 Burke, 1 Nansen, 2 Virginias (one just in front of the Russian SAG!), 1 Sentry in the air
At Keflavik: 4 Poseidon (harpoons) and 4 F-22s (air superiority)
At Lossiemouth (Scotland): A heck of a lot of aircraft :)

Russia:
1 Kirov, 1 Udaloy 1.5, 1 Gorshkov, 2 Akulas (one of which will be detected by automatic ASW search order from NATO SAG)
At Olenya: Loads of different aircraft, but hardly enough range for the fighters.

A very unfair scenario just to show off the interface.

We have an alternative version of the same scenario, where both SAGs have CVNs. There it gets very hot and unpredictable fast, so it was not a good idea to show off the game with it!
