That is weird the manual says :
Demesne is represented by the banner. The first number is the current
number of provinces you personally control, and the second number
is the number that you are able to effectively administer. The
higher your Intrigue attribute (explained more fully on page 15), the
more provinces you can rule at the same time
. If you find yourself ruling
more provinces than you can manage, grant the excess to your vassals to
rule on your behalf.

IMO the system from Crusader kings was fine with demesne size being tied to intrigue skill, I don't like this new system and the penalty should be 1.00 not 5.00 per extra province, this is just one of the things that broke the game for me. I hope it gets patched out.

Didn't they remove the links to the manual on the forum some time ago before the release because the manuals linked were outdated but supposed to be fixed at release? That part of the manual I linked was from the released game pdf manual.
No, there was just a mention of making a readme regarding the changes since its writing.

I really doubt it will change in a patch, since that was originally how it was supposed to work and must have changed it for a reason. 1 extra RR instead of 5 would be pretty pointless and you could own 10-15 provinces pretty comfortably if you built theatres. I imagine they wanted to reduce some of the micromanagement from CK and force you to have vassals that were stronger relatively to you. Also it means that suddenly having a low intrigue ruler doesn't mean you have to give away half your land.

I don't know why that ended up in the manual since demesne limit connected to the intrigue value has never been on the table for Sengoku.

I can definitely see why there's a hard limit to demesne size.

Otherwise those huge AI blobs would just run much of it themselves, and be far more impervious to unruly vassals and your secretive manipulation of such. ;)

And likewise for the player. It would lower the amount of Intrigue options in the game, which is the opposite direction I'd like to see it go.

You can easily sustain a 6 kori demesne by build a theater in each one. That mitigates the revolt risk completely and the income penalty is peanuts compared to the potential extra income from an additional province.

You know what maximum fun is? Turning Christian and putting a church in each of your 6 kori. That extra 2% from an additional church makes it even more profitable.

I must have missed a line in one of the hints, but I'm not sure how to assign kori to vassals. In fact, I started as a small clan to learn how to play, so perhaps I don't have any vassals at all. How do I get vassals/assign kori? It's a rather silly question I'm sure but I had the same silly questions before I started to really enjoy V2.

Right click a male character you want to give land and go to diplomacy, there's an option to grant landed tiltles.

Considering what a central role this plays in the gameplay this really needs a more intuitive locaiton in the interface and just a more sophisticate dinterface overall. Almost a country organizer like the army OOB organizer on the left in HOI3 FTM.
