Meh, close enough.

You're using an 8:5 ratio on a Mac, browsing with Safari. You just want me to hate you, don't you?

Trespoe was right. Using a Mac is the internet equivalent of being a Volvo driver.

@ Drxav

Of course you knew that 1440x900 wasn't 16:9 - you can't keep track of four votes or add correct, but damnit you know your ratios and fractions!

It normally called 16:10 and I got the same thing here :)

Ratios are usually referred to by the lowest equivalent that uses whole numbers. IE 8:5. 16:10 might be more informative because it does tell you the intention: to bridge the gap between 16:9 (normal widescreen) and 4:3 (the once-dominant aspect ratio) - or 16:12 to have the same numerator as 16:10 is doing. I have always hated 16:10 (8:5), because I never saw why anyone would want to have letterboxing on 16:9 and pillaring on 4:3.

Ooo, let me play.

1366x768. Stupid evil laptops that won't let you play Aurora without downloading a special program to extend the screen. I don't even think it fits into a neat aspect ratio.

1366x768 is 16:9, albeit very slightly truncated from perfectly 16:9. But yeah, 768 is way too short a screen height.

Aurora would chug hard on a laptop, surely. I find that on my dual-core 3.0GHz Phenom II it's rather slow. Mind you I've been playing this campaign for +50 years.

It's a top end i5 (or was at the time I got it), so it shouldn't be too bad. The only problem I get with anything I run on it is overheating, which shouldn't be a problem with Aurora.

Oh. Yeah it might actually do better than mine. When I bought this the Phenom IIs outbenched even i7s for gaming applications, but for raw number crunching everyone knows that AMD looked like idiots compared to the i7s and even i5s. Aurora's got a lot of number crunching, and much less normal gaming memory access sort of tasks.

ummmmm...... whatever. screen resolution is screen resolution. I don't understand.....

Get a bigger monitor. and bigger speakers. They sound louder. The knob goes to 11.
