It's a bug. Someone decided to script him as the de Gael childrens' mother.
Ever since the new patch I have seen reports of super Bohemia. I even have a super Bohemia in my current playthrough. It didn't go well for the Kaiser when they rebelled.
Something seriously wrong here... His 1st attempt went exactly the same, too, just last month.

Its because there are no Kingdoms in any of the Empires. So, if the Emperor makes a Kingdom, it'll be the de facto Kingdom for the whole Empire. :/

The creation of the Orthodox Pope is actually due to my intervention. In my 1.06 game as the Queen of Cyprus, I somehow ended up with an Orthodox bishop with a strong claim to the Papacy. I pressed his claim for the heck of it, and when I loaded that save in 1.07 patch, he turned into the Patriarch of Rome. Even though he's the Patriarch, because of his Papal title, the Patriarch of Rome and his successors still receive money from Catholic bishops all over Europe.
And within that same game, the Ecumenical Patriarch converted to Catholic Christianity:

I always feel sad for heirs of rulers who live 40+ years. They wait almost their whole life and when they finally do take the throne they normally keel over dead within the year.
