Hello! I tried World in Flames 2, thinking it would be as hard as World in Flames for HoI 2. Uhm... I played Normal-Normal as Germany and steamrolled the SovietUnion. I guess I have to go try a harder setting. Really, i attacked in at June 8th and was in Moscow around 8th September. The French were more of a problem, but I managed to get to Paris wthinh the 40 days too :p people who r afraid normal is too hard for them, please be brave and just try. It's not that hard.

Which one should affect them?

As per what is does with the other units, depending on the unit, so:

Each of the first stage terrain techs should effect rangers, ski, guks etc ie infantry types,

while all the second stage terrain techs should effect ss motor, ss arm and ss mechanised. ie vehicle types

Basically just placing the unique units in with their normal counterparts.

Ministers also don't affect the special unit construction time or give them the same bonuses a non-elite unit get.

Awesome idea

It is the 5th time i lose with germany and i love it, keeps me interested in this mod but i know i do something wrong,
i need to know how many factories i need to build, i build around 40 is that to much or to little ?
At the started of "fall gelb" i have around 80 inf. all with art, 6 arm 2 cav 4 mountain 8 stukas 6 fighters 6 interceptors but i think that is to little ?
i do not invest in navy at all.
All tips are very welcom.

I think the key to victory is to steamroll the Soviets in 30 days or less. After that they are getting many many divisions. Maybe some good players are able to beat them afterwards, but I wasn't able so far....

THANK YOU for this mod. I'm having a blast. It's so refreshing to play a game where France is not hardcoded to be a ridiculous pushover and there is an actual gameplay purpose to build the Siegfriend Line! So far it seems that the difficulty level is not as insane as some players claim, but I guess that it depends on the skill level of an individual... bad habits from HOI2 ARMA may play a part here, too.

A minor suggestion - it seems that Plan Z vs subs decision is a bit pointless, as it only adds some units to the build queue (which you can delete, anyway). It would be much more interesting if it gave some bonuses and penalties, representing strategic focus.

Also, it seems that Japan badly needs help in China.

what are the bad habits from HOI2 and ARMA? i agree that japan needs help with china
in my game, I triggered the 2nd treaty of versailles, and now onto Britain I go

I found something odd about this mod.

You can simply choose who your HoS and HoG are right from the beginning. In original DH full you can't do that, but I don't know how to ensure that only Hindenburg in the first year is the HoS and Hitler after him.

Its a setting in the misc.txt that you can edit if you don't like. Search for HoS in the file and you should find the relevant line.

In HOI2 ARMA you could beat France without putting much effort into it, as the devs wanted them to fall quickly and easily in every game. France was badly nerfed IC- and MP-wise and the AI almost never performed any offensives. The Belgium border was often poorly defended, too. In WiF2 you need to manage your IC more carefully and do a bit more manoeuvring in order to defeat the French, but it's definitely not an impossible task or sth.

Thanks for the feedback.
What kind of bonus/penalties would you envision for Plan Z decision? Build time?

Yeah, sounds good. Also, maybe it should be possible to start building CVs/BBs sooner but at a high cost in belligerence and relations?

BTW have you considered changing the stacking penalty for air units? ATM big stacks have too much of an advantage IMO, which makes the air war a bit silly.

will put it on my to-do list thanks

can we expect upgrade times to be altered? atm they seem to take forever and its easy to get behind. anyone else having this issue? my only complaint brilliant mod and thank you for taking the time putting it together

First of all - AMAZING MOD!!! I simply love it.
I played with Germany, but I have to start over, because I haven't prepared well for Operation Barbarossa.:)
What everyone recommends, is it playable on difficult/aggressive?

Also, tell me, did you do this event and other things work on other countries, not only on Germany? I'm wondering about Japan, are there any new events, possibilities, decisions etc?

Anyone know if this will work with the RC2 hotfix?
