Great to see this back. Gunkaar seems to be on the verge of bringing the combined power Asia down on the heads of the British. This should be interesting
I'm more inclined to wonder just how old that Envoy is![]()
So, India got a ... er, institutional problem between a ceasing PM and the theoretically politically toothless King ... all created by the leader or the government party, that, by pure accident, is the grandson of the formerOh, also add a former foreign ambassador turned almost Emperor ( since, let's be honest, we know who is running the shots there ) of the country India was warring with
So, exactly what RL banana republic are you channelling in ?
In the end, it is yet another cliffhanger, since I'm not seeing Dalip accepting this peace treaty lightly. So either we have another absinthe binge or another less than fully legal action by his part to continue to have some power ( or maybe even both at the same time *faint* ). And even if Dalip gets beaten, i do not see his future relations with Gunkaar as any less than strained ... unless Dalip gets completely pushed to the side :/
Heh! It’s not the mural, it’s the principle (and the power over Parliament that goes with it)…Perhaps Dalip can start collecting Chinese friendship murals instead.![]()
Not to spoil things, but it’s probably the latter.Eeesh, Dalip's really losing it isn't he? Not that he was ever the most rational plotter in the world but he always had his eyes on the goal. Gunkaar's offered him China on a platter and Dalip can't get his mind off some stupid mural.
...or maybe he's worried that Gunkaar's success will finally push the monarchy off the power podium and into the political wilderness of the constitutional monarch.
Thank you!Awesome stuff.
It had been so long without updates, I couldn’t leave you with another Chinese Plot cliffhanger without furthering the story significantly…Wow, two updates almost in a row!
This is yet another moment where Dalip must be regretting the constitutional monarchy, those pesky MPs getting in the way of his mural. But, alas, I must side with the-PM-whose-name-I-forget, a chinese friendship mural & tons of tea and goodies surely beat a humiliation mural.
Also, Panjab's getting filled with smoke from all those factories, eh?
Hehe! It so is!"That's different! We're royalty!" http://http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=StJS51d1Fzg "It's good to be the king."
That last panel exchange between Delip and the ageing PM was nothing short of brilliant!
He was born in 1796 and it’s not 1877, so he should be about 81.How old is the PM now anyways?
Assuming he was born at around 1800, he should be a bit under 80 himself.I'm more inclined to wonder just how old that Envoy is![]()
Ah yes. With China firmly in India’s sphere, no foreign power can hope to win a land war in Asia!Great to see this back. Gunkaar seems to be on the verge of bringing the combined power Asia down on the heads of the British. This should be interesting
It’s good to hear your words of approval! As someone who has been lurking in this thread for many months now, I'd like to say that I have enjoyed every moment of this AAR and I look forward to the future updates.
Hyperbole, pure, shameless hyperbole. You are the best AAR maker of the whole world history!
Gunkaar is quickly learning the importance of working behind the scenes.Gotta love how Dalip and the PM end up just bickering with each other and Gunkaar, who pulled off the whole thing, is just ignored.
The "Why do I get the feeling it has to do with treason?" line made me laugh.![]()
For now he is! (I’ve been leaning towards naming him Wu Youyu, but there hasn’t been much of a cause to bring his name into the story).Fu Manchu is immortal![]()
Thanks! For some reason, I haven't tagged this thread yet. Keep it up Selzro!
Miles ahead from the rest of the civilized world!Looks like India is still the leader in the field of applied nepotism!
Once he’s properly the PM, it shouldn’t take too long…I wonder how long it will take for Gunkaar to just get fed up of the two of them?
An alliance, how did you do this in-game? Did you just white peace then ally? Or did you edit the save somehow for roleplay purposes?
I'm new to the game, so can you explain what you have done to make China friendly, Selzro? Was it indirect assistance or simply a coincidence (which is doubtful considering the expansive buildup)? Still, another great update.
Funny thing about this game. You can build up influence with a country beforehand and use it to pull them into your sphere right after you make peace. The whole war business does nothing to limit the extent of a GP’s diplomatic influence. I had been influencing China before war broke out, and it would actually have been in India’s sphere if they delayed their declaration of war for a few more weeks…He may have sphered China, which would account for the trade benefits that he mentioned. Great update! Sun will never set on the Indian Empire!
That’s high praise indeed! I’ve never played Victoria I, but a friend of mine who did and found it tedious was thrilled with Vic II, so I suggest you give it a try!Hoooly crap thia ia great stuff. I couldn't even call myself a lurker since I read it all in a night.
Very good sir, and you've got me wanting Victoria II, and that is a mean feat since I absolutely hated Vicky I
