Official notice from the office of the mayor of the shire.

It has come to my attention that our great trading partner Lindon has come under tension with their elven brethern. Nevertheless we hobbits shall support them.

I would also like to extend an invitation of a defensive-pact with arnor since they are the only faction to border us and we should stick together against any evil.

The Shire is a vassal-state of Arnor, a defensive agreement is assumed to already exist. That said, we thankyou for your support.

((Hint: Vassal like between Emperor and Prince, not like Master and Slave and certainly not like in EU3 or alike where the vassal-state is displayed like puppetry))

Orders are due Monday, both Rhûn and Khand may send me 1 new order because the war will be updated tomorrow.

I don't recall, did I send mine?

I am still missing some orders, last chance with a malus of -2 to send them in. Eothed, Goblins, Harad - I am looking at you.

Khand shall devour Rhûn! That is all...

OOC: Uh, Afa, I did tell you that I was dropping out...so I'd have a very hard time when it comes to sending in orders.

I meant the person you told me would hope in as a replacement ;)

Afa, it is with regret that I am dropping out. Apologies; but I simply don't know enough LOTR to do it right and Empire of Harmony is beginning to consume my time.

Sunset of the West - the Years 1655 to 1660 TA

Little did the King Framsia of the Eothed know when he hunted the famous white stag and slew it in a heroic battle he alone dared to enter that his valiant deed would be the only successfull among the peoples of Middleearth for years. Perhaps slaying the mythic beast was no feed to be proud of but spelt doom to everyone instead. As the hunt took it's terrible toll and exhausted the realm not much else could be achieved this years but all of the world would sure envy the young kingdom for such calmness.[+2 to all rolls of Eothed next turn]

Because of the really bad rolls everyone else gets +1 to their rolls next turn, the second best roll was 4 below the highest and that was not a 10!

The war of the charred oak

Curious about the struggles of their dwarven allies the Elves of Lothlórien made the first move and tried to west control from them over the lands between the Golden Wood and the Eastern Gate of Khazad-Dûm by citing their arrogant belief that the dwarves then should have more time to concentrate on other foes. The Dwarven King Nain I. when hearing that was thrown into a rage and fighting broke out there and then dragging two former allies into a spiral right to the catastrophe. Adding to that was the clumsy pirating the Elves fell to when they barred the Anduin to tax all trade coming up and down the river making potential friends even less likely to intervene on behalf of the "Witch of the Golden Wood". [-100 infantry to Lórien, Anduin trade destroyed, Khazad-Dûm and Lórien at war]

The years of tragedy

Not much was known in this years of the Kingdoms of Dale and Rhovanion but for all those small misfortunes which befell the common people but no outside evil power took the opportunity to strike against the struggling kingdoms and after a fashion they regained their strength and even sat up trade together. [Dale and Rhovanion trading, -500 gold to both]

Compared to that the Dwarves of the Iron Hills faced a real challenge. The maimed dragon Aglarung crawled into their mines burning the workers and scarring them and only after a hard fight the beast was put down and out of misery but not before he had not befouled a part of the treasure chambers themselves. [-1000 Gold, -200 population]

Hardest though was the fate of Gondor which was striken by a tax revolt. While a triffle matter after some investigation the King in his panic choose to recall a great number of troops and left the North and West practically undefended which left the inhabitants of Calenardhon practically on their own. Seeing that they declared independence from Gondor and the King was to troubled with some nobles trying to compete for his favor in Minas Anor to bother much for the barbarians.[-50 infantry to Gondor, -3000 Gold to Gondor, Dunland independent of Gondor]

The forgotten War

The%2BFallen%2BField.jpg

The war in the east settled for a walk through endless fogs in the burned lands where vengeful ghost claimed only a few lost men but most of the would-be fighters died from exhaustion, thirst and hunger. Even a ringwraith with an army of trolls did not succeed in getting through the fog without losses or finding the right direction because the wizards lured him into a great tomb where they sealed him until some of his orcs set him free again. [-500 infantry to both Khand and Rhûn]

One step forward and a hundred steps back

As everyone elsewhere succumbed to sorrow and despair the Elves of Rivendell, the Men of Arnor and the Hobbits of the Shire each took the opportunity to crap some lands they all felt they needed bittlery thus wasting their strength far from the point they needed. In Rivendell the situation became likely unbearable to the point where the question was asked if they should abandon the hidden vale altogether for Eregion as everyone wanted to move there but the elven lords in a mad thirst for recreating a lost realm. [Imladris must decide if it wants to be either Eregion OR Imladris]

While the Hobbits claimed the Southern Quarter and the Men from Arnor took Tharbad for themselves the huorns overrun the Breelands and the eastern Shire, destroyed town and farms and even wealthy Bree and succeeded in disrupting the whole trade in the region. [Shire wins Southern Quarter, Arnor wins Tharbad, -2000 gold from both Shire and Arnor, -500 population from the shire, -1000 population from Arnor, Breeland lost to Arnor, Trade in Eriador destroyed for 1 turn]

With the trade gone the High Kingdom of Lindon almost collapsed and the grand plans had to be postponed for some time. With so much loss at hand the High King even gave order to scrape some ships though little did it help to avoid any loss at all. [-5 ships, -1000 gold to Lindon]

For the next turn please do not send me trade orders. You are free to trade with anyone who likes you and you may reach, so just IC about it so I may see both parties have agreed. To make up for the worst update in history I will introduce some good events this turn so everyone may recatch breath.

Those insolent conjurers shall suffer; their entrails will adorn the walls of my citadel... The forces of Khand, the forces of the true Rhûn, will soon stand triumphant on the corpses of Koragan and his petty band of sycophants.

((Good job, Khamul; trapped in a crypt...))

ooc: Since you rolled a 1 on the order to size the land controlled by said ally.

OOC: Am I doomed to roll only 1s against those trees?
