Day/Night 7
Knut One-eye, the Prince of Denmark, sat in the cage which was once inhabited by Ingvar the bastard. His carcass, of course, was moved prior to the prince's relocation. A lone priest approached the cage, staring at the battered noble with surprise and pity. Who would have thought... Vikingr muttered to himself. He was a dutiful priest, skilled in matters of the gods, but not in intrigue. He found the concept of a heathen prince murdering his countrymen both confusing and repulsive. Still, he had known the lad for a long time and would have much preferred they had not met under these circumstances.
"Why would you commit such atrocities, Knut?" he asked the young man who was veering at him from the other side of the cage.
"Have you come to mock me too?" Knut sneered as he approached the old man. As much as he tried to remain dignified, there was a tinge of desperation in his voice. "Are you so blind that you believe in those that have no proof?!" he pressed himself against the wooden planks that surrounded him.
"I do not know who to believe anymore. I believe that if you are a true Norseman Odin will grant you passage into Valhalla."
Suddenly, madness twisted the nobleman's face. Vikingr noticed it, but could not step away in time before the concealed blade cut deep into his neck. "Odin?! VALHALLA?! Do you think this is a joke, old man?! THERE IS BUT ONE GOD!" he stabbed repeatedly. The guards were frightened, but they could not kill such a high-ranking nobleman without being instructed by the king. They managed to rip Vikingr's corpse away from the mad Prince, but could not do much else. After a draw of straws, one guard was chosen to get in there and disarm the mad prince. Although he suffered a few cuts, the man managed to knock out Knut and remove his weapon.

Eirikr was sitting in his tent, deep in thought. The prince going mad and now this... It seemed like half of his problems had been eliminated, but the other half remained. A guard entered and reported another murder. The old man just waved him away. He knew exactly who the victim was and he was not someone Eirikr would need to worry about. He had a bigger problem to tackle and he felt like his strength was not enough to win. Nevertheless, he would try. His agents were in too deep to quit now.
