glad you are back! hope your exams went all good

Actually the exams just have started but I've been busy with finishing all the projects to school and I also had two rush weeks in work. But the exams are going good so far. I hope that I will be able to provide another update this week.

Question for all: do you like the idea of Google spreadsheet with combat and bombing logs or aren't you looking at all at it?

Those invasions looks like they will need to be heavily reinforced to break out or even hold a line.

Reinforcements will arrive next update to both beachheads, I guess that at least 20 divisions will arrive to American theater, hopefully the ports will be able to supply this amount of troops. I've finally managed to withdraw all troops which fought in Soviet Union (withdrawal lasted almost 4 months!) and with last US Navy fleet trapped at Mili the speed of reinforcement of the invasion depends only on how many transports I have.

I will confess to having looked at it but I think that kind of detail is probably more useful to you than it is to us.

The second landing looks good with a solid supply base and should help confuse the poor AI! ;)

You are known for your ignorance for a veery long time :p

He basically wrote the same! He's just being a polite Englishman whereas I'm an honest Czech :p

The invasion of the sleeping giant should be interesting to see, since now that you have established beachheads you have a medium for future attacks and reinforcements. But I gather I cannot be long until the bulk of the US war machine reaches the West Coast to counter you.

Yes, and this is exactly why people keeps telling that we, Czechs, are rude

With two beachheads and few high level ports I will be able to supply high amount of troops so there's a plenty of space for some clever plan as the grand battle plan surely won't work there.

This invasion looks good, seems the US' forces simply cannot stand up to yours in a fight. Hopefully the AI iwll know what to do with that manpower boost, but I'm not sure their script allows them that?

In a BI invasion in '44 the major ports were not enough to supply the needed forces to break through, but this is earlier so the US hasn't build up so much.

29. The invasion, part 4

Porterville is still under attack from two directions, American counterattacks are coming from Keeler and Independence. 3 Japanese divisions are protected from ground attacks by CAGs operating from carrier task force stationed in San Diego. All Japanese carrier air groups are undertaking modifications which will help them to be more effective in air combat as there is no real threat for Imperial Japanese Navy.

Defensive line has been breached in Tracy lone 5 Dokuritsu no Soukoushashidan division weren't able to repel almost 10 times bigger allied force and was forced to retreat. Situation on the front looks dire, but reinforcements are on their way.

2 IJA divisions advanced into Death Valley in attempt to distract allies from attacking Porterville. However as their stepped into the province they found themselves under attack.

6 Dokuritsu Shubirentai retreated from Richmond to Oakland with some organization remaining as defense of Oakland will be much less stressful for the defenders due to IJN patrolling in San Francisco Bay. 46 centimeter caliber guns which are installed on board of IJN Yamato can ruin one's day.

In the afternoon local time 5th June, 2 corps arrived to San Francisco. The tide of battle in southern beachhead is about to turn.

6th June an attack towards Keeler has started, 2 allied divisions apparently exhausted from their attack on Porterville were immediately overpowered and last remaining division weren't a threat to Taiwan Shidan and 7 'Kuma' Hohieshidan divisions.

Reinforcements also arrived into Seattle. Total of 8 divisions including one corps of infamous Japanese "armoured horses".

Defenses of San José finally crumbled and Costa Rica surrendered without forming an exile government. Now nothing blocks IJA way to Panama canal and war was declared upon Panama.

SryECVN.jpg

Allies tried to attack Oakland but this time IJA had numerical superiority so they've canceled their attack.

2 US Navy transports were intercepted near San José however they've managed to escape. More pleasant news came from Mili where last of the trapped ships of admiral Nimitz were sunk due to port strikes from nearby stationed carrier task force. I'd say that USS New Mexico was last US Navy ship capable of fight so hereby US Navy was destroyed.

Ground attacks are continuing against allied forces in order to relieve Japanese forces a bit. Ground attack done on Prescott 11th June was one of the most damaging ones. Group of Japanese bombers consisting only from 2 medium bomber wings managed to kill 282 allied soldiers.

Battle for Porterville was finally won, 3 divisions managed to repel almost two times bigger attacking force and after brief reorganization and reinforcement they will be able to strike back. However another breach of defensive line was achieved in Los Banos, local garrison was not able to withstand assault of four times bigger attacking force.

Defensive line was breached for a while, but newly arrived forces will turn the tide. Americans stationed in Richmond were already defeated and IJA is starting to regain lost ground.

While one of the two corps which arrived as reinforcement is busy regaining lost ground near San Francisco, the other corps was ordered to reinforce defenders in the Mojave desert.

4 infantry divisions are marching towards Panama canal and so far they've not encountered any resistance with exception of few HQs.

One US division which overextended itself were surrounded in San Jose with little hope of rescuing.

16th July Japanese scientists achieved major technological breakthrough. New proximity fuse will provide more firepower to anti-aircraft and artillery. I can't wait till all support brigades upgrade their fuses as +2.5 soft attack is very nice.

In the North expansion of the beachhead continues rather unopposed.

In the South some land was lost, same land was acquired but it looks like the state of stalemate ended and Imperial Japanese Army finally regained its lost momentum.

IJA trooper: "Patrolling the Mojave almost makes you wish for a Siberian winter"

Also, I was incredibly amused when I discovered Death Valley in my game.
I wonder if they changed the name on standard issue maps, so they don't have to tell the men they are about to attack into Death Valley?

great update!! the Americans seem to be falling apart

That's one thing you can't deny to IJA: one really will travel the World with them!

I wouldn't be so optimistic, the situation is barely stabilized in the South and don't forget that Stars and Stripes are still waving upon the White House.

The rule of thumb is to never go first nor the last! :D

IJA is like a travel agency with benefits

As long as the supplies still flow in the west coast landings more troops should be transported there, but when no more troops can be supplied then consider a landing in Florida.

Nice AAR. :) I do have always difficulties to find correct mix of brigades for divisions. Can you show or tell which subunits you use in standard infrantry divisions now when you are attacking US mainland? 3 infrantry brigades, 1 artillery, 1 AT or what? I didn't found any info about this subject from earlier posts (or then I am blind).
