Just curious...

Is Australia producing native aircraft and ships, or are they using production licenses? Because when I play, I can never get anyone to let me build their units... I REALLY want to build Messerschmitts

You're pretty much considered Allied by the AI even by the start. Good luck getting production licenses from the axis countries. Try from Britain or the US (I know it's not the messerschmitt but it's the best you can do as an Allied Australia :( ).

I'm playing as an axis country though, so I'm getting everything from Japan as they consider me an ally. All ships besides capital ships I'm getting from them. Aircraft is native, as I can afford the techs. If anything, my techs are better, as I'm not sure if Japan has any RADAR at this stage.

You can't get BBs, CVL/CVs, CAs and BCs from licenses, which is what I need to produce natively.

Checking in for more. :)

do you have some Naval bombers? Things will get a little nasty if not

Nope, and that's one reason I want to stay away from the US navy at the moment. I barely have the IC to build ships and infantry let alone air force :\

Part 29

19 Oct - 16 Dec '43

Particularly excellent news after the recent disaster that our navy suffered - some new ships. Of particular interest to me is our carrier. A true carrier, just like the world powers have. Many people are talking about how naval power has shifted towards aeroplanes, and this should hopefully give us some much-needed strength.

But in more pressing matters, Ecuador is about to be invaded. The navy's been transporting ships for the last few weeks and finally we are in a position where we can invade. Now that war has been declared, we can try to take a forward position in their islands.

This went particularly well - those islands were unguarded! We were forced to send a fleet of only transports - most of our other ships cannot cover the range. No US fleets came to help Ecuador luckily.

We've brought in our ships and we have begun to invade the mainland itself. Planes from the carrier are bombing the mainland whilst marines fight on the shore. The battle won't last long, I hear.

With some more troops, we're attacking their other port. This should give us a very strong foothold to work with. Unfortunately, our divisions attacking there aren't trained for this kind of combat, and the Ecuadorian army is better set up there.

Nonetheless, we won the battle by using our already-established beachhead.

Then, our men begun a powerful offensive to take their capital.

The Ecuadorians surrendered quickly, realising any resistance would be quickly crushed by our divisions.

And more advances for our navy - a modern battle cruiser and new destroyers. I hear they'll be making a third fleet with these new ships - a fleet with a carrier and a battlecruiser supported with powerful fleet screens.

it's just one carrier, I'm allowed to add a second capital, right guys? D:

No because that BC, if paired with a true CV, is going on a hero charge all by it lonesome self while the rest of the fleet look on and chew bubblegum. Put a cvl there :p

Of course HoI has to mess it up with a single BC haha :p
well ty for pointing that out

hahaha, so the Australian Empire has reached South America? Go Aussies!

Yep :D
I'm still trying to figure out what I should take next though :p

Knock out the Panama canal and take all of South America :p
Just beware of the old dreadnoughts the Brazilians, Argentinans and Chileans have.

Take Colombia, Panama, Venezuela and the Caribbean islands... leave the rest of South America later... you might overextend yourself and the US Army will be really close to you

Surely the empire must hold dominion over all the shores washed by the austral seas?

Alright this is very late :p

Yep, Panama's the next goal.

I'll fix the fleet up in two updates time. I've got modern and old ships together in the same fleets, probably not the best idea. Keep the best ships together to pave a way forward. Use the older ones to protect tps.

The empire holds dominion over everywhere in the near vicinity to Australia but I've still got the western side of South America to deal with. And Portugal does have a few holdings in the Pacific I still need to take out :p

Can we see a map of the world? Also when are you posting.
I am about to play my next session of the game so hopefully sometime tonight or tomorrow, thanks for the interest :p
Sure, I'll get out a map of the world. It might not be in this update, though, I might do it in the update after that.

Part 30

20th of December, 1943 to 11th of January, 1944

With Ecuador fallen, rumours are running wild of where we will strike next. None of us doubt that we are going to attack somewhere else, but we all are wondering where. Some say Columbia, others say Peru. I'm somewhat doubtful about both of those. Columbia is too close to the US, and attacking Peru would allow the US to send a fleet behind us and take out our entire navy when we are concentration on an amphibious attack. I think we will attack the Panama canal.

Indeed, my suspicions were correct. Our destination will be Panama. Today, some planes from our escort carrier were sent to scout out the Panama canal. It seems the United States has reinforced it with a garrison division and a small fleet of cruisers. Hopefully no carriers and battleships come.

This is possibly the most terrifying attack we have ever made. So far, we've attacked small countries, or the British (who have an ancient navy). This is the United States, with a very large and very numerous navy. Command has recognised our fear, and have ordered us to attack the country of Panama instead of attacking the port directly. Our soldiers can push from the country of Panama to the canal.

Today, we declared war on Panama.

Our fleet had been beginning a naval invasion of Panama when the inevitable happened. A powerful US fleet came to greet us. Complete with carriers and battleships.

Somehow in the mess of planes and cannonfire, we actually sunk a powerful US ship. At the cost of a transport fleet and of a destroyer. I'm very surprised that our entire fleet wasn't completely wiped out by the US fleet. I guess those must have been older ships. There's no way we would have stood up to the modern carriers of the US navy. That said, expeditionary command has told us the US is mourning the loss of their battleship dearly. I expected that to be propaganda, but they showed me newspapers - it's become a nation-wide grief for them, to lose their pride of the fleet.

Many of our ships were damaged and many people injured on the ships. I was luckily not injured.

On the plus side, we have taken over the country of Panama and are now able to launch an attack on the canal.

YBI3Yht.png

After a short but intense battle, the canal garrison surrendered to our 3-division strong assault force. They were hopelessly outnumbered. With the canal closed from the US, I've heard that we might be able to take South American countries now. The path is sealed for the US, and we are free to exert our dominance over the South American Pacific countries.

Whoa sinking US battleships, nice job! And the Panama canal is a crucial target of course!
Now it is time to see if Japan can be convinced to send help?
